1. I booked my stay with Expedia. It showed pics of the bathroom with a bathtub. There was no bathtub. Front desk said I need to contact the 3rd party I booked the room with. The 3rd party, Expedia, told me their website pics and amenities are provided by the hotel. Went back to the hotel and they told me sorry...but we can't do anything about a booking with a 3rd party.
2. I've been staying in hotels for over 45 years off and on, consulted for 7 years full time during that time. I have never, even had a room where the TV was not at the foot of the bed, for comfortable viewing. The designers screwed up in this hotel 'remodel' with the TV off to the side, leaving my wife and I with no comfortable view posture.
3. I purchased a Sprite ($3) and a water ($5)...I know, yikes right?! Way to rob your guests Hampton/Hilton. When I received the final bill in my email, I was charged for 2 waters. I called the hotel...no $2 difference refund.
4. All these years and this is the FIRST time I've spent in a hotel room with no notepad/pen on the 'desk'. I know...kinda dumb of me, but still...really Hampton/Hilton?!
5. There was no TV-type guide or a brochure of the area features/highlights/restaurants...nothing in the hotel room like that at all.
6. The sink water...OMG...it was a TRICKLE!!! And I'm not exaggerating that...a TRICKLE!! Their water pressure is a joke.
7. NO clock. No alarm. Yeah yeah, I can call the front desk to call me but still...no clock? Get with it Hampton/Hilton. Also the first time in over 4 decades of hotels and NO clock. Wow.
8. USB(A) ports by the bed didn't function. Those old ports came about in the late 1990s, with USB-C in 2014. They said they just remodeled the hotel, but ports are seriously out of date.
9. Oh and last, but certainly NOT least, the river 'view'. The Expedia pics, again...provided by the hotel they told me on this too, had me walking out onto the balcony seeing a river flowing right in front of me. I figured prob about 1/3 of the $312/night I was paying was for the balcony and view! NOPE. Seems that sky-high price is simply for being 'in town'. In reality, when you walk out onto the balcony, look over the balcony, crane your neck to the right and it runs on the other side of the next building, perpendicular to your balcony/room...not parallel to your balcony and right in front of you.
I WILL NEVER AGAIN STAY AT A HAMPTON/HILTON. There are way too
many out there that care about their guests, providing the experience they/I want in a hotel.Show More
