I booked under a government rate, presented my government tag as proof, yet was told it wouldn’t be honored because I wasn’t on an official business trip — something that had never been stated in the booking terms. That refusal felt arbitrary and unfair, especially since I had the proper credentials with me.
I was then quoted $189, yet a $260 charge appeared for the second night. When I questioned it, staff insisted I’d been given the “best average rate,” which apparently applied only to one night, something that was never explained at booking. The language felt intentionally misleading and designed to confuse guests rather than clarify.
To make matters worse, housekeeping entered my room at 11:35 a.m. while I was undressed in the bathroom with the door open and my daughter in the shower despite a 12:00 p.m. checkout time. The TV, music, and shower were all on besides I was talking with my husband, making it obvious that someone was inside. This was an unacceptable breach of privacy and it made me very uncomfortable.
When I raised these issues, staff apologized and said they’d “follow up with management and housekeeping,” but they offered nothing to make things right. I was also told the manager wasn’t in until later that afternoon. As someone who’s been a supervisor myself, I know that floor supervisors often have the authority to address guest concerns immediately — it felt like an excuse rather than an effort to resolve the situation.
After voicing my concerns at the front desk, another guest actually approached me to say that the same thing had happened to them . That housekeeping entered their room unannounced and they too discovered unexpected rate increases during their stay. That made it clear these issues aren’t isolated incidents but part of a larger pattern that management needs to address immediately.
It’s truly unfortunate, because the property is beautiful and well maintained. Though between the deceptive pricing, refusal to honor a legitimate rate and lack of accountability for a clear invasion of privacy, I can’t recommend staying here.Show More
