The beach is steps away as you check in at the welcoming reception counter The accommodations are lovely, spacious, clean, and comfortable with a retro beachy theme. You are able to gaze at the endless sea from your oceanfront balcony. I was impressed with the beachfront staff. They quickly set up your lounge chairs, umbrellas, and tables, at your request, for your relaxing day in the sand. John and Jesse took great care of your food and beverage needs all day long with cheer and friendliness. John made sure you were hydrated with endless cups of ice water as he made you smile. There is a charming ice cream/gift shop serving delicious Gelato and other treats. With two restaurant options for your dining needs, you will be satisfied. One of them has a happy hour! Each interaction with the resort staff was friendly and kind. The beach and pool director/manager was very friendly and engaging. She excitedly shared with us some new initiatives she wants to incorporate at the beachfront. I wish I knew her name. She made me want to return in the near future. One of the best amenities I enjoyed was the complimentary shuttle to and from Fort Lauderdale restaurants, shops, clubs, and fun. The resort needs updating. The only thing that’s "upscale" are the prices! Advertising is deceptive. We booked a room with a king bed, ocean view, and balcony. When we checked in we were told that our...The resort needs updating. The only thing that’s "upscale" are the prices! Advertising is deceptive. We booked a room with a king bed, ocean view, and balcony. When we checked in we were told that our room only had a partial ocean view and we would need to upgrade for $50 more per night to get an actual ocean view, which we reluctantly did. There are a myriad of extra fees for everything and the 22% "hospitality fee" on food and drink was pretty much hidden in fine print. Balcony doors don't close unless they are forced and banged, which we were also hearing from other rooms. There is also black mold on the wall and overhead of the balcony. The barn door on the bathroom is ridiculous and doesn't stay shut. We were only allowed 2 bottles of water for the entire stay, not each day as told by housekeeping. After that, it's $4 each! The entire place is overrun by iguanas and their crap was all over the walls of the lazy river. At 6PM all of the beach furniture is put away and the beach staff are done for the day. There was so much trash on the beach left by inconsiderate people while still daylight and after the staff were done for the evening, that I actually went down and cleaned it all up to prevent all of the plastic from making it's way into the water. Internet connectivity is nearly nonexistent unless using the resort's "free WIFI". The problem is that it's not secured and I'm not willing to risk my personal and professional info. Fire alarm and announcements going off in room at 7:30am on Saturday telling us to evacuate just to get down the stairs and they say it is false alarm and can go back to room yet the same alarm and message kept going off for at least another hour. Was not expecting valet fees to be $55 per day especially since we were staying there because we had an event we were attending the very next day at the same hotel and the party planner had told my mother in law that the valet would be $18. Also $52 in resort fees for what and tell me we have a $41 dollar credit towards food and drinks yet when we got coffee Sunday morning at the little cafe they still ended up charging me for it. Definitely not a place of choice next time we are in Ft Lauderdale. Will stick Marriott where I know are wonderful and don't charge outrageous extra prices and take care of there guestShow More

There was a great selection on their menu. The accommodations were extremely comfortable in the room. Our room had a balcony from where we watched all the fireworks. We enjoyed live music almost everyday in the lobby. The best part was the lazy river where I almost fell asleep listening to the music while relaxing. The only negative aspect of staying there was the $65 x night for parking a car on top of $52 x night resort fees. So when planning your stay these costs should be factored in to the budget. But, overall, UBER is readily available and the hotel also has a complimentary shuttle. Show More
