As part of a recent business trip to Adelaide, I spent three days and two nights at the Pullman Adelaide, located just steps from Rundle Mall and the city’s key dining and shopping precincts. The location sits just on the outskirts of the main city grid, offering the ideal balance — close enough to access everything with ease, yet far enough to escape the hustle and bustle of the CBD at the end of the day.
For business travellers, this positioning is ideal — you can move between meetings, cafes, and client appointments quickly, while still enjoying a quiet retreat once work is done.
Location
Being just a short stroll from Rundle Mall, the Pullman’s location can’t be overstated. You’re close to Adelaide’s shopping, cafes, and nightlife — yet the property itself remains peaceful and well-insulated from the city bustle.
Parking is available onsite, though — as is often the case with inner-city properties — it can be relatively expensive. For those looking to save, Hindmarsh Square offers free street parking after 6 p.m., a great local tip that can help reduce daily costs during shorter business stays.
Room & Comfort
Thanks to my ALL Accor membership, I was fortunate to receive an upgrade to a Junior Suite, which offered extra space to work and unwind. The corner layout provided excellent natural light and panoramic views of the city and surrounding parklands, adding a sense of openness rare in CBD hotels.
The suite featured a separate sitting area, a large workstation, and a comfortable king bed. The TV offered full access to Foxtel’s entertainment suite, perfect for unwinding at the end of a long workday.
The bathroom was well appointed, featuring a deep soaking tub complemented by a selection of bath salts — a thoughtful touch for guests wanting a relaxing end to the evening. As is becoming standard across Accor properties, soaps and amenities were provided via environmentally friendly dispensers at both the shower and basin, balancing sustainability with convenience.
Lounge & Facilities
One of the standout highlights was the Hindmarsh Lounge, a quiet and comfortable space ideal for business travellers needing a calm spot to catch up on emails or enjoy evening canapés. The lounge was frequented primarily by fellow business travellers — often the same small groups each evening — all unwinding over a drink and light bites after a long day. It created a relaxed, collegial atmosphere that perfectly complements the Pullman’s professional focus.
Service in the lounge was attentive and personable, with staff remembering guest preferences and ensuring a consistently high level of comfort.
The Parc Brasserie & Bar serves as the hotel’s in-house restaurant, offering an impressive range of high-end selections ideal for a refined dinner before settling in for the night. The same venue also hosts the morning buffet breakfast, which provides a convenient and quality start to the day without needing to step outside.
Room for Improvement
During this stay, the breakfast service appeared understaffed, leading to noticeable delays for made-to-order items. On this particular morning, coffees were served well after meals were finished, which slightly detracted from an otherwise enjoyable dining experience.
Additionally, something the Accor group as a whole could refine is consistency and communication around premium-member discounts. This stay highlighted confusion — with no discount applied to my Platinum membership, despite one being honoured on my previous stay. Travellers value clarity around loyalty benefits; watering that down through inconsistent application risks disenfranchising a loyal customer base that relies on trust and recognition.
Overall Impression
The Pullman Adelaide perfectly blends professional polish with genuine comfort. Whether travelling for business or leisure, the combination of excellent service, spacious rooms, and prime location make it an easy choice for frequent travellers to Adelaide.
