Fun facts
The pagoda is believed to have originated from Chikurinji Temple, which has ties to the Heian period poet Ono no Takamura.
Despite suffering damage from a strong wind in the Taisho era, the pagoda survived air raids during World War II unscathed after its relocation.
The pagoda's construction methods and style are estimated to be from the Muromachi period, with a legend suggesting Taira no Kiyomori performed its first repair.
