Very good
5 ReviewsVisitors consistently highlight the stunning panoramic views of Tokyo, including distant landmarks like Mount Fuji on clear days. Many appreciate the fast elevators, the unique glass floor, and the option to visit both the Tembo Deck and Tembo Galleria. The convenient access from the train station and the variety of shops and restaurants in the attached Solamachi complex are also frequently mentioned positives.
Fun facts
The tower reached its full height of 634 meters (2,080 feet) in early 2011, making it the tallest tower in the world at that time.
The height of 634 meters was chosen because the figures 6 (mu), 3 (sa), 4 (shi) stand for 'Musashi,' an old name for the region where the Tokyo Skytree stands.
The tower's design fuses neo-futuristic elements with traditional Japanese beauty and was also built with disaster prevention in mind, featuring seismic proofing.
The exterior lattice is painted 'Skytree White,' an original color based on a bluish-white traditional Japanese color called 'aijiro.'
