I have given Amara quite some time to respond appropriately to my complaint but due to their lack of respect for the inconvenience they caused, I have decided to complete this review to provide insigh...I have given Amara quite some time to respond appropriately to my complaint but due to their lack of respect for the inconvenience they caused, I have decided to complete this review to provide insight to others considering this hotel. As a family of 4 we booked a 2 bedroom apartment for a 6 night stay celebrating our 20 year wedding anniversary. Our first night we noticed water leaking in the bathroom, we placed a towel over the water as I nearly slipped before seeing the water on the bathroom floor near the sink and the next morning we reported the issue. Someone came to check, advised the toilet was leaking and would need to be removed. He went away to follow up. Hours later we called to enquire on what the plan was, we were advised the engineers were too busy to attend and there was no other room to move us to. We were asked to use the bathroom in the second room, this was an inconvenience but one we could work with. I was not impressed though as we now had to use one bathroom when we had paid for the option of two. The toilet leak continued and we had to place a towel over the water on the floor each day. The main issue was the SMELL of sewage which permeated into our bedroom for the entire stay at the hotel and at no time did anyone reach out to follow up or offer options. I sent an email to the booking agent who sent this onto the Amara and I raised this again as we checked out and spoke to the Manager on duty. He advised he was limited in what he could do but would offer a Grab transfer and cover for a meal we had in the restaurant during our staff. This goodwill offer would be no more than $200. I very clearly told him this needed to be escalated and was advised it would be and they would be in contact. I have not heard once from the Amara team. I have heard from the booking agent and they have advised Amara believe the transfer and meal compensate for the loss of a bathroom and the smell of sewage for the length of our stay. I can't believe they would think this is OK, considering what we paid to stay. I did not create a scene at the hotel as I honestly believed this would be looked into with further discussion on options for compensation. In hindsight maybe I should have carried on to receive a better outcome. Needless to say I am extremely disappointed with the customer service we received and the hotel experience really impacted on our stay. I would not recommend this hotel based on the lack of customer service and responsiveness to issues.Show More

Das Amara ist modern und sehr stilsicher eingerichtet - von der hohen, eleganten Halle über die diskret beleuchteten Flure bis zu den Zimmern, die mit edlen Materialien, angenehmer Beleuchtung, einer gut zu dosierenden Klimaanlage, einem High-Tech-WC und vor allem mit sehr bequemen Betten überzeugen. Dazu gibt's flauschige Handtücher und Bademäntel, es gibt (zumindest in dem von uns gebuchten Deluxe-Zimmer) eine lederbezogene Sofaecke mit Tisch und (in den oberen Etagen) viel Aussicht. Und zum Entspannen zwischen Sightseeing, Shoppen und Abendessen gibt's im 6. Stock auch noch einen netten Pool mit City-Feeling. 2. Das Personal ist top - vor allem die Jungs vom Concierge-Service, die einem hervorragende Hinweise geben, wie man dorthin kommt, wo man als Tourist in Singapur gewesen sein muss. 3. Das Amara liegt gut, nämlich in fußläufiger Nähe zu Chinatown, zur U-Bahn-Station Tanjong Pagar, zu vielen ausgezeichneten Restaurants und Bars und zu dem berühmten, unbedingt empfehlenswerten Maxwell Food Centre.Show More

From our first meeting to the actual day itself, the service we received was nothing short of outstanding. A huge thank you to Nikki, our Sales Manager, who guided us through the entire planning process with so much patience, clarity, and genuine care. He was responsive, accommodating, and consistently went above and beyond to help us customise the banquet to suit our needs. Every request — big or small — was handled with so much attention and professionalism, and he made the entire journey feel stress-free. On the wedding day, Elwin, our Banquet Manager, was absolutely amazing. He ran the show flawlessly from start to finish. His calmness, efficiency, and experience gave us so much confidence, and he handled all the behind-the-scenes details so seamlessly that we didn’t have to worry about anything. He anticipated our needs, coordinated the flow perfectly, and made sure our guests were well taken care of. Thanks to the dedication of both Nikki and Elwin, our wedding banquet turned out beautifully. The food, the service, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations, and many of our guests also complimented the hospitality. We’re truly grateful to the Amara Hotel team for making our big day so memorable.
