Both roads have many wonderful Peranakan b...This hotel is in an excellent location if you want to explore Peranakan architecture, as it is about 15 minutes' walk from Koon Seng Road via Joo Chiat Road. Both roads have many wonderful Peranakan buildings. It is also less than 5 minutes' walk from Marine Parade MRT Station, four stops from Gardens by the Bay and five stops from Marina Bay. My room was clean and spacious with a comfortable bed and pillows and the right thickness of duvet, neither too heavy nor too light. There was a good shower. However, the air conditioning system in my room did not appear to vary the temperature. It made the room so cold, I had to switch it off at times to get the room to a comfortable temperature. In addition, the hotel was showing signs of wear and tear, such as holes in the corridor carpet. The view from my bedroom window included the beautiful Sri Senpaga Vinayagar Temple. The greatest strength of the hotel was the staff, who were all genuinely friendly and extremely anxious to help me throughout my stay. Breakfast was reasonable, but the evening meals in the restaurant were more mixed. The first evening I had Singapore chicken and rice, which was tasty. The second evening I tried the Teriyaki salmon. It tasted quite unpleasant and the accompaniment was an uninspired salad and vast quantities of oven chips. Overall, the strengths of the hotel greatly outweighed the weaknesses. I would be happy to stay here again on any future visit to Singapore.Show More

As we were travelling with a 17m Baby boy, the staff allowed us to advance check. The family rooms arranged for us were large enough for my baby to walk around. The rooms include a balcony with sunset view and swimming pool view. There is a mall right under the hotel and the location is not far from the airport. Here is our compliment to the staffs of Village Hotel Katong. During our first night in Village Hotel Katong (5/11/2025), we found out that the cable for the rice cooker was left in the last hotel, which was Village Hotel Sentosa. As our baby had food allergies, we have to cook his meal everyday. Missing the cable was a big issue to us, with no other choice, we went to the lobby and asked for help at around 10 pm. Gratefully, Kenneth, the senior duty manager, tried to contact Village Hotel Sentosa for us without hesitation. The great news was then be informed shortly, the cable was found and the delivery could be arranged by the Hotels. What a warm-hearted arrangement to the customer!!! The cable was then be delivered to our Room by Kenneth at around 11 pm. Our schedule for cooking the baby meal was finally back on track. We would like to express our grateful to the staffs of both Village Hotel Katong and Sentosa, especially Kenneth!!!, and Thank you for one of the most enjoyable trips in Singapore.Show More

We absolutely loved the area surrounding the hotel. Easy Walk down Joo Chiat Rd to see many beautiful colourful buildings, there are heaps of really good coffee shops, cafes and boutique shops nearby. We also enjoyed biking along the east coast park in the evening. It's easy to catch the MRT into the city from here too. We got a very good price for our stay so it was good value for money, however the hotel is quite dated so you should not be expecting an immaculate hotel room, there is wear and tear. Our kids loved using the pool which is a really good size and deep. Never very busy. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are on a budget, but stay in this area even if you are not! It's a really lovely part of SIngapore. Also to note is a good supermarket underneath the hotel, and fresh orange juice machines everywhere.Show More
