The...This hotel is about the only choice in the Capitol Hill neighborhood and the location is terrific . My thought is it was once a former apartment building that was turned into a neighborhood hotel. The staff is very nice and the beds are quite comfy. I booked the largest suite they had, it was right next to the elevator which can be plainly heard. It’s unfortunate but the renovation was shoddily and cheaply done. The bathrooms are not good, my husband called the toilet useless, and the tubs’ finish is completely worn away with a bath mat placed over the worst of it, which doesn’t feel entirely sanitary. The products are l’occitane however. It’s DC so hotel prices are what they are, but it does feel like you’re paying a lot for a la Quinta experience. The take away is you’ll like book out of necessity, the staff will be nice, you’ll walk to everything but it’s going to be a 2 star stay.Show More

T...The hotel is in a great location for sightseeing. Housekeeping is terrible. I was there for 4 nights and my room was never cleaned. I had to go to the front desk each day asking for clean towels. The continental breakfast that is offered is part of your separate amenity fee. Each morning you ask at the desk for a breakfast voucher and walk 1/2 block to Pete’s Diner for a $15 breakfast. The food is marginal and if I had to pay for it, I would not go. Better off going to Le Bon Cafe next door for coffee and a pastry. The King Deluxe room is nicely appointed with a desk and chair. It has a sink, microwave and a mini frig the bedroom. The bathroom is extremely small with hardly any space to move around. The big problem is the bathroom sink does not have a facet made for a vessel sink so you can’t even get your hands under it. Staff is friendly and taxis are always available.Show More

It's not served in the hotel but in a small cafe/deli up the road. They give you a 12 dollar voucher which won't buy you much so you end up spending money anyway and the woman serving was very unfriendly despite leaving a 20% tip. Also - just be aware. It wasn't obvious but there was an additional 30 dollar per day charge at checkout to cover hotels.com and booking.coms fees (there were two of us who both booked through different sites). No biggie as the company will cover it but I wasn't expecting it. So in summary. Great location. Decent rooms. Nice staff. Naff breakfast and unexpected extra charges.Show More
