Middle-of-the-night fire alarm evacuation At 12:30 AM on November 14th, I...This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had, and the lack of basic customer care made it even more disappointing. 1. Middle-of-the-night fire alarm evacuation At 12:30 AM on November 14th, I was jolted awake from a deep sleep by blaring sirens and emergency announcements echoing through the hallways. The alarm was so loud and urgent that I immediately grabbed my things and evacuated down the stairwell along with other confused guests. We waited outside for nearly an hour before being told it was a false alarm and that we could return to our rooms. There was no apology, no explanation, and no acknowledgment from the hotel about the disruption. After being shaken awake like that, I wasn’t able to fall back asleep, leaving me exhausted and unfocused the entire next day. For a hotel of this level, that response is unacceptable. 2. Housekeeping cleared my room while I was still checked in despite having an active reservation. They entered my room and emptied it — including removing all of my personal items and everything in the mini-fridge. I returned to find the room partially torn apart as if I had checked out, which I had not. After a long weekend working at the EXPO across the street, coming back to find my beer I’d looked forward to being thrown out was infuriating. I was waiting over an hour for a simple resolution about the beer that was removed from my fridge, and still have not received a call from the manager. The lack of accountability or urgency from the staff was extremely disappointing. How easy would it have been to just give me a beer from their bar downstairs? If I could give this stay a zero, I would. I will not be returning, and I hope management takes this feedback seriously.Show More
