8.1(681)10/10 Second time in Hawaii, best 4-night stay of with an Ocean view
We came to Hawaii for the second time after a 12 year hiatus and because Marriott right across was charging far more, we went for the Hilton, which came to a pretty reasonable price for an Ocean view. It was expensive but worth it.
My mom & I stayed here 4 nights during President's week (February 17 to February 21). We arrived here at 2:30PM, but sadly did not get the room. Front desk was very prompt and quick with the check-in process. Despite not getting a room at the time, we were able to leave our suitcase at the Bell Desk and retrieve it once our room was ready.
We came back around 7:15PM, got room 3514, which was a 2-Queen bed, Premium Ocean View. It's very rare to stay at this high of a floor - the highest I've stayed was 32. Overall thoughts - Very spacious room, you got a closet inside a bathroom. Bathroom has a walk-in shower with 2 controls which you can adjust to open a movable shower or fixed shower and other to control the temperature. Water pressure was great all the days.
Large TV, sleep was very comfortable all the nights we were there (got 8-9 hours of sleep each night since we slept around 10:30PM, relative to midnight Pacific Time). There is also a balcony (lanai) where you can chill and it was just so nice to wake up to an ocean view every morning. This removed all my stress and allowed me to soak in the Hawaiian warm weather, sunshine and just be happy and sip some coffee. You could just stare at it for days.
Breakfast was at the MAC 24/7 restaurant. The interesting thing is if you call it a 24/7 restaurant, technically you should advertise that you'd be keeping it open 24 hours 7 days a week, not closing at 10pm. We were able to have breakfast all of the days and dinner one night. Breakfast was of very high quality - Scrambled eggs, sometimes poached eggs and some pancakes and buttermilk waffles along with syrup and cinnamon butter. What's more? You can enjoy seeing a garden from the inside while having breakfast. For dinner, that's another story. If you are a vegetarian, the choices are not good, especially fried rice. We did have some Thai salad and nachos and cheese which were both good, but it would be nice to expand the selection especially if folks are vegetarian. Service was great and Pam recognized us all 3 days, very prompt and efficient and ensured we were served with the utmost respect. Kudos to her and the entire team.
There is also a MAC 24/7 coffee shop, which one day we got a cappuccino which was like Starbucks's version and another day on the way for sightseeing on a guided tour, I had an egg and cheese muffin, which was of superb quality. Behind all this is a garden, which reminds me a lot of some you'd see in some Indian 5-star hotels and Singapore. It's very serene and my mom and I truly enjoyed it. Coffee is pretty equivalent to coffee maker coffee, but still good, but not worth paying extra for.
The only downsides to this place - 1 store only, not an ABC store, but still a gift shop and the rooftop was closed but I never had time to go there. Basically no complaints otherwise.
On Thursday after returning from the sightseeing tour, Emma Vikingstad from the concierge went above and beyond. Despite it being in the 4th day of our stay because I booked as a Honors member, I noticed the welcome gift in our room that we can get from the front desk. She gave us reusable bags and also very friendly to talk to but this was more at a marketing level where we would go to a timeshare event, even if we don't take it we listen and still get a prepaid debit card. She organized an Uber to take us with no extra charge and ensured everything worked from start to finish.
Friday was the check out day. The same thing did happen in 2013 at Waikiki Beach Marriott where we had a redeye flight as other flights were quite expensive to return. Late checkout would be $100 more, but in this case, it could not be accommodated due to it being full for a Friday. No worries, so we left our bags again, went to the timeshare event and hung around Waikiki again and even saw the fireworks before heading to the airport (what a treat).
Overall, just a wonderful stay and experience. If our travels ever take us back here (it will not be a 12 year wait again), I'll be more than happy to stay at this spot again if the price is reasonable. This was a relatively stress free stay and really just an enjoyable overdue trip for me after 7+ months despite other plans not working out.

8/10 Overall, a pleasant stay in the heart of the action
I stayed at the Hilton Waikiki Beach arriving on Monday, January 20th for 3 nights. I stayed in Room 2110 facing the Pacific.
I thought the view from the room was lovely, with an almost perfectly clear view of the Ocean from the small but sufficient balcony. The hotel is set back only about two blocks from the Ocean.
I loved this property, with one exception.
You can tell it is an older property; however, it has been very well maintained. I arrived on Floor 21 via the fast and speedy elevators, and you can tell the hallway carpet has been replaced sometime in the past few months, as it still smells brand new.
My room was great. It was likely remodeled sometime in the past few years. It has a very comfortable King Bed, a large TV, nice furniture that is in good condition, ample plugs and outlets and a chaise lounge.
The bathroom is a bit tiny; however, still very nice. It has a single sink with plenty of counter space including shelving on both sides of the sink. The shower is spacious with plenty of great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The air conditioning worked well in the room as well.
I utilized the restaurant Mac 24/7 on three occasions, and each time it was great as well.
The only issue I had is that as a Diamond member, they should have upgraded me from a Deluxe Oceanview to a Premium Oceanview, which was available at check-in; however, instead the front desk representative decided to sell me an upgrade. When I asked her about the comp upgrade, she told me she could only sell them. A premium oceanview, would have upgraded me to a higher floor.
This is just plain down rude, and is not the service I have come to expect, from a full service property. I would ask that someone contact me about this.

6/10 Solid 3 star hotel in Waikiki
This is a solid 3 star hotel in Waikiki. We are Hilton Gold members and were upgraded to an Ocean View and we loved the view - it's nice but keep in mind it's not ocean front - but we enjoyed the view anyway.
This hotel is older style - lots of wood and carpets. We like the pool area for the mini golf and corn hole games. The pool itself is quite basic but you are close to the beach.
Parking was valet and they charged us $70 USD plus tax for our 7 seater - this was more expensive than the nearby hotels and parking lots - so they can't say it's all hotels that charge this for a slightly larger car - this was disappointing.
Location is a the diamond head end of Waikiki we do prefer being closer to the Waikiki Beach walk but it was fine for a few nights.
The room was not overly clean when we checked in - we looked under the bed and not only dusty we found a pair of someone else's shoes! Covered in dust they look like they were there from the 90s.
The coffee in the room was awful - we had our gold credit and used it downstairs for a few breakfast items but keep in mind it's more expensive than going to Starbucks which is a 3 min walk away towards to the beach.
It's ok for what it is - I think the resort fee is quite pricey and there are many great choices in the area but it is a great value for us of Hilton points.

10/10 Lovely location!
Location was great! Right in the thick of all the beach commotion and trolley tours.
We had the King Size Room facing the beachโฆ. beautiful views!
The amenities - gym, pool area with mini golf and outdoor games, laundry room and ice machines were some of the many we used during our stay. All were great!
We spent most of our time by the pool - bar staff were friendly and great. Pool and spa were great and loved that it was opened til 10pm!
We werenโt aware of a security bond, or what โresort feesโ were - but Dexter was of great assistance in explaining it all at the check in desk. Although, I shouldโve done my research. A small hiccup but it was all up from there!
The convenience store across the road was very convenient, including the restaurant and bar in the foyer. 2 min walk to the beach, and close proximity to any great food - food trucks, McDonaldโs and other restaurants all within a min walk.
Be sure to try Leonardโs Bakery - 7 min drive from hotel and book the Diamond Head hike - 5 min drive.

10/10 Enjoyed our stay!
Really enjoyed our stay here. First time at this hotel, we've stayed at the Hawaiian Village before. Mostly we were impressed with the staff, they were super helpful at the front desk and the servers at the restaurant were great! Housekeeping did a good job cleaning every day. The only issue was that they kept missing to credit our F & B for being Gold HH so it took a few visits and texts to the desk to figure it out but except for that all was good. Clean nice rooms with balconies. It's quite windy at the pool at after like 3 pm kind of shady but the pool bar is nice and good variety of craft beer. The location is awesome, very close to everything.

Reception Kit was very friendly and accommodating when we first arrived, updated to a ocean view, we booked a further 2 nights and Kit allowed us to stay in the same room.

10/10 Great Location, Service, and Value
This was my second stay at Hilton Waikiki Beach Resort and it was great. The hotel is in an amazing location. It is walkable to many restaurants, shops, and of course only one block to the beach. The check in was terrific and as a diamond member they upgraded me to an ocean view room and accommodated my early check in which was incredible. The staff is so great, friendly, and attentive. We ordered from MAC in the lobby one evening and Sandra was such a delight. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom is nice. The furnishings could use a little updating but still well maintained. I would definitely recommend.

7/10 Great hotel, shame about some staff
Great pool area - definitely recommend hiring a day bed on pool deck for 25US for a day - staff are awesome and take drink and food orders for you. However most of the female staff in the restaurant at breakfast were so difficult, this made our daily breakfast costing over $100US every day quite unpleasant (recommend booking incl breakfast itโs cheaper). Lucky the food was good and was convenient or we definitely wouldnโt have gone there more than once.

8/10 Good hotel in excellent location.
Location is the strongest factor of this hotel. Hotel itself is a bit aged but in very good, clean condition. Rooms are well insulated from any noise - we didn't hear anything even though the hotel was at full occupancy. Beds unfortunately are way too soft and uncomfortable (personal opinion). The pool deck is in shade most part of the day so we didn't use it, besides there is beach 5 min walk away and you can collect a beach chair OR boogie board from hotel (1 piece per room). Overall we had a lovely stay. Didn't use hotel breakfast or restaurant so can't comment.

The restaurant staff were excellent. Efficient and lovely. The food was disappointing. The New Year Buffet dinner was expensive and there was no vegetarian selection. We ate lettuce for $95..just not good enough

the staff were incredible! So friendly and helpful - I've never experienced services like it. The beds were so comfortable and they upgraded us to an ocean view. I've stayed at a lot of hiltons but this is the best experience so far. I suggest partaking in the lei making that they offer for free!!!
