You couldn't ask for better access to the city's main attractions, restaurants, and public transportation. The central location made exploring Lisbon effortless. Rooms: The accommodations exceeded expectations for a 4-star hotel. Everything was immaculate and thoughtfully designed. Special mention must go to the shower - genuinely the best we experienced in all of Portugal. After 10 days traveling through three Portuguese cities, this was a standout feature that we truly appreciated. Atmosphere: The hotel strikes a wonderful balance between modern comfort and Portuguese charm. The ambiance feels upscale and welcoming, punching well above its 4-star classification. Value: Outstanding value for money. This hotel delivers a 5-star experience without the premium price tag. Given the quality of the facilities, the prime location, and the exceptional service, we felt we got far more than we paid for. Service: The complimentary tour with Leonor deserves special recognition. Her knowledge and passion for Lisbon made it one of the best tours of our entire trip - better than several paid tours we took in other cities. This kind of thoughtful, free amenity really demonstrates the hotel's commitment to guest experience. Overall: As the final stop on our 10-day Portuguese adventure, Hotel da Baixa set the bar incredibly high. All's well that ends well, but our experience had a shaky start. First, the taxi advised that they were not allowed to drop us at the hotel. Rather, we had to exit 2 blocks away and walked, somewhat intimidating with 3 suitcases. Then, when we arrived our check-in experience was equally unpleasant. And our extremely small room had a "view" into a facing room across a tiny courtyard. We were not happy and phoned American Express travel who had booked our trip and told them we wanted to move. They phoned the hotel and it all changed in a flash. We went back to reception and spoke with our new friend Gonçolo Almeida whom American Express Travel had told us to ask for. Wow! He was terrific! He gave us a new, delightful, larger room with a lovely view. He and his colleagues couldn't do enough for us: great tips on where to eat, where to go, tours to take, tour guides to use - always pleasant, always warm and welcoming, so much so that we quickly realized our first impression was the wrong impression. The person who had checked us in was not at all representative of the rest of the staff. We're super pleased that we gave Hotel Da Baixa a "second chance" and will go back there for sure, our next visit to Lisbon. Happy to rate this gem 5 * !!Show More

We had just come from another hotel where the neighborhood lacked character, the rooms were tiny, and—most importantly—the staff was incredibly rude. Hotel Baixa was the complete opposite. The location is fantastic, right in a vibrant part of town. The hotel itself is charming, and our deluxe double room with a city view offered plenty of space. Even though we faced the street, it’s a pedestrian-only area, so noise was never an issue. The bathroom and shower were great, and the room overall was very comfortable. The staff truly stood out. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We especially loved the breakfast host—such a lovely way to start each morning. Breakfast itself was excellent, with great coffee and a generous selection of cereals, pastries, eggs (including an omelette station), bacon, and fresh fruit. There’s also a cute bar with live music on the weekends. The only challenge we encountered was with Uber. Many drivers struggled to reach the area due to heavy traffic and restricted streets. We used an alternate pickup spot just up the street, which helped, but walking to a main road is definitely the easiest option. Overall, we would absolutely recommend Hotel Baixa and would happily stay here again.Show More

The location couldn’t be better: right in the heart of Lisbon, within easy rea...What can I say about Hotel Da Baixa other than it’s an absolute gem—fully deserving of its Number 1 Tripadvisor ranking. The location couldn’t be better: right in the heart of Lisbon, within easy reach of major attractions, great shops, and countless restaurants. The rooms were spotless, with stylish modern décor and incredibly comfortable beds. I loved the thoughtful touches—free Nespresso coffee, complimentary minibar, effective air-conditioning, bathrobes, and even the option to open the windows for some fresh air. Breakfast offered plenty of choice each morning. My only minor wish would be to have bacon and sausage available on the same day—but overall, the selection was excellent. The bar was a lovely place to unwind, and drinks were very reasonably priced. A special mention must go to Pedro, the wonderful and exceptionally helpful guest manager. His free walking tour is an absolute must. In just two hours, he opened our eyes to the beauty and history of Lisbon, complete with little surprises along the way. Finishing the tour with a complimentary glass of wine alongside fellow travellers was the perfect touch. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Hotel Da Baixa to anyone visiting Lisbon.Show More
