I recently stayed at Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans while attending a conference, and I have to say—it was an incredible experience from start to finish. This hotel exudes classic New Orleans charm and sophistication. It’s located just one block from Bourbon Street in the French Quarter, so you’re right in the heart of all the action while still enjoying a peaceful, elegant atmosphere once you step inside. The property was spotlessly clean, the service was phenomenal, and every detail was handled with care. The conference facilities and catering were excellent, but what truly stood out was the hotel staff—especially the room service and housekeeping teams. Each evening, I returned to find my room refreshed with an impressive turndown service: chocolates on the bed, my robe laid out neatly, slippers waiting, everything perfectly folded, and even the bathroom recleaned. It’s those small touches that make a big difference—and this hotel delivers them flawlessly. I also want to give a special shout-out to Staci, the night manager. She went above and beyond during my stay. When I called for a wake-up call, she actually remembered me from the night before and asked if everything was going well. She even shared a bit of the hotel’s fascinating history—including its reputation for being haunted! It was such a fun and personal touch that made the experience all the more memorable. Having stayed previously at the Hotel Omni during another visit to New Orleans, I can confidently say that Hotel Monteleone is in a league of its own. From the beautiful historic ambiance to the top-tier service, it’s a true five-star experience in every way. Monteleone is a great hotel. Were there last year and LOVED it, 5 starts. Had a Royal Salon room and it was great. So booked another trip this year, booked 2 rooms during early with the hotel about a...Monteleone is a great hotel. Were there last year and LOVED it, 5 starts. Had a Royal Salon room and it was great. So booked another trip this year, booked 2 rooms during early with the hotel about a month in advance, a regular king room and a Royal Salon room expecting the same top-notch experience. Arrived at 11am, 5 hours before 4pm check in time. They were nice and said rooms not ready, we understood and went out while we waited. After 4 pm finally got text Royal Salon room ready. Checked in and were assigned both rooms on 3rd floor. The king room was a handicapped accessible room right next to the elevator with no view except a view of a wall. We did not ask for nor were we told the room was handicapped accessible/next to elevator. The Roay Salon Room also had no city or river view but view of wall. We were shocked because the room is an upgraded room and was not cheap. Went down to change rooms shortly after., and were told not possible, hotel sold out. So they had us wait 5 hours to check in, give us 2 of the worst rooms, then a few minutes later they claim no other rooms available. You be the judge. We figured we booked directly with the hotel in advance, booked more than 1 room, and arrived 5 hours prior to check in. Yet we were given their leftover trash rooms. I’m surprised that ANY Royal Salon room would have no view, but if so we would have been told so. I could see if we booked last minute on Hotwire or something. Front desk was not empathetic, didn’t offer to change for the remaining other nights where not sold out. Also, saw rooms available if its website for hundreds less than we were paying for last 2 nights. Also, the revolving carousel bar was broken, but we understood that part. What we don’t understand is being treated poorly by front desk. We said something upon checkout and were treated coldly. Honestly, in all other areas the hotel excelled. Love it. If book a Royal Salon room avoid 3rd floor/room 367.Show More

Every interaction, from the front desk to housekeeping, felt personal and sincere. The rooms were spotless, elegant, and beautifully designed, offering the perfect mix of comfort and historic character. The Carousel Bar & Lounge lives up to its legendary reputation — lively, elegant, and one of the best cocktail experiences anywhere. The bartenders are true artisans, and the atmosphere captures the spirit of the French Quarter perfectly. The Criollo Restaurant was another highlight. Every meal — from breakfast to dinner — was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The food celebrates local ingredients and Creole tradition with modern sophistication. The rooftop pool was a peaceful retreat with gorgeous city views and excellent poolside service. The fitness center was well-equipped, spotless, and comfortable — ideal for travelers who like to stay active. The conference and event spaces were first-class — elegant, well-appointed, and supported by an incredibly capable staff. Everything ran smoothly and professionally. Great service taking luggage to reception - our roo...We stayed here as part of a driving holiday and getting to the valet parking area was simple, so was handing over the keys and the car disappeared. Great service taking luggage to reception - our room wasn’t ready - so we were given a quick tour of the hotel. We stayed in room 1464 which was quiet with views towards the FQ. Room is quiet, well appointed - at the last minute we paid a bit more for a slightly larger room which we are pleased we did - amenities in the room are good and there is a small fridge. 2 bottles of water a day and refreshed tea/coffee. We did not eat at the hotel because we had lots of meals planned outside, so no comment on the food. We tried to get into the carousel bar but it was so busy every time we tried to get in, we gave up. We did have a glass of wine which we took to the room. Facilities look great - the pool etc - but we didn’t use them. Shout out the staff who were super friendly from the valets, to the bell boys - door man was a little stand-offish - but him aside, everyone was great. Check in and out was super easy. Car appeared within 5 minutes of requesting it and we were on our way. The hotel is very well located for visiting the FQ which means you can go there and get back to the hotel easily - which we did when it poured with rain - and easy to then get to other parts of NO. The hotel has an old school US feel about it and the bathrooms/room decor reflect this, but that’s why you stay in an old school charming hotel like this. If you want shiny and chrome, go elsewhere for that. Lots of history and charm. Really liked it.Show More
