It's a luxurious peaceful hu...My fourth trip to NOLA was when i figured out I was doing it wrong before. Staying at the Royal Sonesta is like becoming a part of the the show that is the French Quarter. It's a luxurious peaceful hub in the center of chaos. If you stay anywhere else you are cheating yourself. My start wasn't smooth. I asked for early check in but due to some issues it wasn't ready. I waited 3 hours in the lobby and I was fuming. I was ready to walk out. The bell men saved me. These 4 guys kept checking on me, bringing me water, and drink coupons. I finally got to my balcony room but the high step was too much for me so I was really disappointed . Not only that the room wasn't available for my whole stay so the days in I would have to change rooms. The next morning the GM fixed everything. They moved me to a better balcony and o stayed there the whole time. April even sent the key and the bellman up so didn't have to do it. Hotels shouldn't be judged on good days but how they handle bad ones. I ate every restaurant they had, did the jazz club, the beads from my balcony. But the end i knew 20 employees names. It was like going home for Thanksgiving. I will never forget that week as long as I live. Don't cheat yourself of the full experienceShow More

This occurred wit...The room was wonderful but we assume the fact we booked it through a third party resulted in our being placed in a room overlooking roofs of adjoining buildings in overgrown alleys. This occurred with a previous stay at your property and we asked to be moved and that was accommodated; however, we just didn't have the energy for it this second stay. I would not advise anyone booking through another site to do so when staying at the Sonesta NO. We were clearly remiss in not specifically asking for a room with a courtyard or pool view. The room was very convenient to elevators, which was a blessing given one of us has severe leg/hip pain. There was excessive noise one night with the couple in the adjoining room to us having a loud argument with profanity that continued from 10pm to 4am. They were clearly intoxicated and experiencing a domestic dispute that was bordering on violence. Otherwise, the room was quiet, comfortable, kept immaculately clean by housekeeping, and well appointed.Show More

I liked that the room was two levels. I liked the extra security on the elevators and out to the courtyard. The room had plenty of seating. The room was clean for the most part.
