I'm being very tough on my review here I acknowledge but this is a 5 star luxury hotel. I've been lucky enough to stay at some wonderful hotels around the world because of my job and the bedroom here...I'm being very tough on my review here I acknowledge but this is a 5 star luxury hotel. I've been lucky enough to stay at some wonderful hotels around the world because of my job and the bedroom here ranks as one of the nicest I can remember staying in. The bathroom is beautiful with some wonderful tile work on the floor and walls and a very clever architectural design of the shower door. The bed is large and comfortable with a simple, but clever, desk behind the bed. The common areas of the hotel are tastefully done as is the slightly cramped pool area. The staff throughout the property are delightful as you would expect of such a high end property. I stayed for 7 nights with a group of 18 others and a few of them commented on the breakfast. In the 7 mornings I dined there the food appeared identical every morning. Granted there was a large variety of cuisines on offer but to me the entire set up was the same. The pastries were hard and greasy and the eggs lacked taste and were often undercooked. The biggest disappointment was the bacon, sausage and sliced pork area where the meat was dry and hard. I tried the bacon a few times but you could never cut it with a knife and chewing it was difficult so I gave up. I have a good friend who has been the GM at some world class hotels and one thing he makes his chefs do is eat their own cooked food. It has helped raise the standard of cuisine when the chef can't eat what he's cooked. The GM here should do the same. One poorly designed feature in the bedroom is the position of the smoke detector. It is directly over the bed and has a piercing, constantly blinking, white light (to indicate the battery is still working). In the early stages of sleep, you can actually see the blinking light through your eyelids. I'm sure I will stay here for 5 nights next year so I'll be bringing eyeshades. I'd suggest you do too if you're a light sleeper. Unfortunately they are constructing a new pool next door so there is constant noise from that when you're trying to relax by the pool. I think that will go on for some months. One thing which was entirely my fault but spoilt my stay was the cost of laundering my shirts, shorts and underwear. The hotel clearly states the prices on the laundry list but I was in a rush and only looked at the price of one item. I was stunned when I saw my bill. I changed hotels to join another group of friends and at that hotel I could have laundered the same items for neatly two and a half times less than I was charged here. The best thing of all looking forward though is that there is a small laundrette about two hundred hands from the hotel where I could have laundered my clothes for Baht150 versus the Baht3,550 I paid here! Lesson learned and my fault and I won't make the same mistake when I come back next year. Be warned and smarter than me. If you're still reading this, this is a great hotel despite the small points I've mentioned above and should be rated 5 star. I'd have no hesitation staying here again next year.Show More

Nerd who help me with a smoot...It’s my 2nd times with ICCM the Mae Ping. This time I booked a room just for one night to spend time before return to Bangkok and received a warm welcome by K. Aom and K. Nerd who help me with a smooth checked in and big thanks for a beautiful room. I met concierge K. Mike, K. Noon who provided a good suggestions for sightseeing. This time I was able to join the Halloween party at Hong’s sky bar and seemed they also spells the magic touch on me with drinks and a great services leading by K. Joy and her bartender team super friendly and fast service even they were busy at that night. Gym located on the 2nd floor with a good quality of equipments, super clean and tidy, safety and good care by K. Dome. Then I took a short walk to swimming pool, staff greeted me politely and walk me to the White House as well. I had a smooth check out with K. Pae and K. Yohan who showed me around their new lounge. One more person to remember from a great services is K. Brian he recognized me and did a great job from beginning of my stay. He served a welcome drink, escorted to room, in room orientation and even offer help before leaving the room. I realized all staff greeting with friendly smile from the maintenance to everywhere in hotel . It really shows how they have a well trained and good service mind. I definitely recommend this place for any occasion and look forward to be there again. Thank you :)Show More

Guests could convenient...InterContinental Chiang Mai the Mae Ping, beautifully modified from one of Chiangmai’s legendary hotels “Mae Ping Hotel”, occupied the prime location in the heart of Chiangmai. Guests could conveniently take a local minibus to all interesting sightseeing spots within Chiangmai old town and explore Chiangmai’s legendary Night Bazaar on foot which was only a few minutes away. It added on a true 5-star IHG services onto the former hotel together with a lot of elegant “Lanna” or Northern Thai decorations all over the hotel which sometime created a feeling of less spacious, especially at our lead-in room “Classic Room” during our previous stay. Luckily, Khun Nui and Khun Fern at Its Executive Club Lounge (Khun KaoFang at Operator) kindly upgraded our room to Premium Mountain View Room which was more spacious due to bigger space. Its buffet breakfast served at The Gad Lanna and Executive Lounge here were admittedly the best ones in town and ones of the best ones in the country. They was truly a “must-try” one. They decorations and atmosphere were so elegant. Their foods offered were really in such good quality and in wide variety. They all tasted so delicious as well.Show More

We’re traveling with our 1 year old, and anyone who has done that knows it can be a bit of an adventure. The staff here have been wonderful with him from the start. Uncle Thiery has been incredibly warm and friendly, and our son absolutely lights up whenever he sees him. Brian has also been fantastic and has checked in on us more than once to make sure we’re comfortable and have everything we need. Our room is spotless, quiet, and perfectly set up for a toddler. The whole team have been wonderful from the childcare play room to the very attentive and helpful bar staff and the team running afternoon tea in the lounge. So friendly and a joy to be looked after by. It’s rare to feel genuinely relaxed while traveling with a little one, but the level of care here has made it easy. We’re really enjoying our stay and already know we’d happily return.Show More
