The setting is lovely, built into a cliff above a river with nice jungle views, and the infinity pool at the top also makes the most of the scenery. The room itself was really clean, the bed very comfortable, and the indoor shower and bathroom were also nice. The bar staff were very friendly, the restaurant was excellent, and breakfast was generous—though portions can be very large depending on what you order. Located next to rice fields, you can walk 30–40 through them and the Campuhan Ridge Walk, and end up at Mount Lebah Temple, just west of Ubud center. (It’s a nice experience, but probably something you only do once.) Also, complimentary snake fruits !Show More

The views and facilities are fantastic, from the stunning pool overlooking the landscape to the beautiful rooms. There are so many activities included, like the 8am yoga classes, traditional Balinese dance performances at dinner, and live music in the evenings. It made every day feel special. The food is delicious with great variety across the different restaurants, and our hibachi night was so much fun. But what really made this place unforgettable was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was warm, friendly, and genuinely attentive. I got sick near the end of our stay, and the level of care they showed me went far beyond anything I expected. They brought complimentary teas to my room, checked in regularly, and even made a special soup for my stomach even though it wasn’t on the menu. Their kindness meant so much. The hotel itself is beautiful and the location is perfect, but it’s the people who truly make this place exceptional. They went above and beyond for us every single day, and we are so grateful. Highly, highly recommend !! this was the best part of our trip.Show More

From the moment we arrived, staff (and the local cat) made us feel right at home- we arrived ~1am and we very much appreciated the free sandwich they had ready for us, assuming correctly that we would be hungry and unable to get food at this time. What a thoughtful touch! The room itself was beautiful and spacious, along with the jungle view from the balcony. Staff were always quick to offer assistance with anything and just seemed happy to be there. We splurged on a floating breakfast and the flower petal tub and I have no regrets. The food and drinks always arrived quickly and tasted great. It's about a 30 min stroll to Ubud along the ridge walk, and we loved being out of the hustle and bustle but within walking distance. I highly recommend for anyone to stay here!Show More

I would say however that staying at the Kastara Resort became one of my entire trip highlights! The resort is faultless and rooms were spotless and incredibly well dressed, I felt like I was living like a king for a few days. The staff also went above and beyond every single time, it really made the trip for me and I would thoroughly recommend staying at this resort off you are every anywhere near Ubud!Show More
