When we checked in, we were told the previous guests had ...We stayed at the Pontchartrain Hotel in New Orleans in August 2025 for my husband’s birthday, and the experience was extremely disappointing. When we checked in, we were told the previous guests had taken the only key. The hotel doesn’t use digital keys, so staff said an engineer would meet us at our room with a new one. After waiting in the hallway for 15 minutes, another staff member found out the engineer had never even been told to come. He also said he couldn’t make a key that night and we’d have to go to the front desk every time we needed to enter our room. We had no way to secure our belongings and ended up barricading the door with furniture to feel safe. The hotel felt old and a little dirty, and the only compensation offered was a single glass of wine. The next morning, they refused to adjust the bill because we booked through Expedia. Poor communication, lack of security, and the outdated, unkempt condition of the property made this stay one of the worst we’ve had. Show More

From the moment we arrived, the valet staff set the tone—they were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and so quick to help. The front desk staff was just as kind, making check-in smooth and easy. The real standout was the restaurant team, who went above and beyond to make our family (especially our little girls) feel cared for. The service was thoughtful, and the food was excellent—the famous Mile High Pie is an absolute must-try! The hotel itself is beautiful, in a lovely area where we felt safe walking around. The bed was very comfortable and the location was just what I was looking for - but - - I was expecting a city view - the room was prepaid through Expedia but 3 additional 'holds' were placed on my V...The bed was very comfortable and the location was just what I was looking for - but - - I was expecting a city view - the room was prepaid through Expedia but 3 additional 'holds' were placed on my Visa card totalling over $1700.00 and one was added the day AFTER we checked out. - the carpet was so dirty that our bare feet and socks turned brown on the bottom and left dirty footprints on the tile floor in the bathroom - furnishing were old and uncomfortable - lighting was not good - pillows were very small - cafe open untial 11AM and restaurant not opend mon - Wed. onsight restaurant and cafe were the main reason for choosing this hotel - overall I was not happyShow More
