A special thank you to reception, we had gone out for the day and upon arriving at our location, realised a mobile phone had been left in the cab - security at the location called Amara for us as they'd booked our cab, the staff contacted the taxi company, who arranged to drop the phone off at Amara, by the time we returned (we left where we were immediately) reception had the phone waiting for us, nothing was ever an issue for the staff, the level of professionalism was impeccable. The staff are friendly, the room, spotless. We had a day when it rained so heavy the pool begain to over-flow, quick call to reception after returning from a day out and they were there pronto to rectify. Would I stay here again and go to the expense of the one-bedroom villa - INDEED. Breakfast can be a little hit and miss, but even in the tea-room the staff are wonderful, special shout out to Arel who went above and beyond any time we went for breakfast, so welcoming and passionate about his role. I was a little apprehensive given some of the reviews, glad we booked, a relaxing stay and can't wait to book a fourth trip to Singapore! Yes, I'd be booking here again without a doubt!Show More

BEWARE if you are elderly or have mobility issues. So many hills and stairs to navigate, so make sure you are in the new building with a lift. We were in the old army quarters,loved the atmosphere but a nightmare to get around the complex. Our room was huge, as was the bathroom. Lovely. But very sparse on furniture. Why no comfortable chair? Why a TV with minimal sound ? Why no outdoor table + chair on the huge verandah that overlooks wonderful gardens? Bathroom a great size, good toiletries. Skimping on information for guests. No printed material eg map of the resort, transport around Santosa ,no Hotel Directory in the room.Staff whose English skills could be improved (misundetstandings and incomplete information). Like always, Amara provides good , clean and comfortable room. The location of the courtyard room is quiet and cozy, it does feels like you are living in a small house in a remote place.
