We had a family member in hospital so it was a great location as only a 6 minute walk. The staff were really friendly and helpful as we arrived early with luggage and they let us check in to our room...We had a family member in hospital so it was a great location as only a 6 minute walk. The staff were really friendly and helpful as we arrived early with luggage and they let us check in to our room at that time . Later in evening when pulled bed sheets down to get into bed I had noticed a few stains I assume did not come out in wash so we called for fresh sheets and no time they wete at the door , anytime we needed towels , coffee pods, toilet paper, or anything they arrived quickly and we had knocked a cup of coffee over and they were promp to have it cleaned up. We appreciated having a coffee maker and refrigerator but a small microwave would also be ideal . Having a restaurant and bar in the hotel was absolutely great for meals or to just unwind at the end of day with a drink. The hospital discount was a huge help ,thank you very much. Laundry facilities in the hotel was another great help but very dirty in there . The sofas in the lobby are comfy and look nice but seem like could use a shampoo or fresh pillows ,just seems like everywhere is clean and awesome and then ya go to sit on the sofa and bam where is the shampooer 🤔. Disappointed when I needed a panty liner there wasn't any in the bathroom dispenser and I also tried 2 others and was also empty. Food was always delicious but wish yas could offer a small pizza on the menu . The rooms should include menus too. Overall the Atlantica had everything we needed for our stay , 6 minute walk to the hospital, restaurant for our meals , bar to unwind, laundry facilities and helpful staffShow More

I’ve stayed at The Atlantica numerous times (10?) since 2019, for both weekend getaways and events taking place at the hotel. I live an hour outside Halifax and know the city well. The hotel is centra...I’ve stayed at The Atlantica numerous times (10?) since 2019, for both weekend getaways and events taking place at the hotel. I live an hour outside Halifax and know the city well. The hotel is centrally located for ease to get downtown, and the north, south and west end, as it’s on the corner of Quinpool Rd and Robie St, a main artery through the city. Staff and service are excellent. The hotel is crisply clean with a contemporary decor. The rooms are clean and well appointed with lots of storage space, a small bar fridge and black out curtains. The hotel underwent renovations around 2019-2020 so things are still in good condition and fresh. Individual thermostat in each room is great for personal preference. The Cannery restaurant is quite good, with fair enough prices for a hotel. Chicken wings are pricey at $22 but tasty. Cannery Burger, Fish & Chips, and South West Salad — all great. The $28/day parking fee is worth in this part of town where street parking can be scarce as it’s heavily used by residents in the neighborhood. A 10 minute walk to a mall with banking, grocery store, supplies etc. Wide variety of good eating options on Quinpool Rd within a 15 minute walk; many only a 5 minute walk. Good coffee and pastry shop immediately across the street. Pool and whirlpool are well maintained.Show More

The restaurant and bar had excellent food with ...We stayed for 12 days in a well appointed King Silver room with wonderful square footage, view, and cozy bed. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The restaurant and bar had excellent food with reasonable prices served by staff who excelled at their job. However, the cleaning of the room was sporadic. It was indicated that our room woukd be serviced every two days, which was actually every third day. The first service, after 3 days changed the towels and bedding but did not refresh coffee pods, water, or other amenities. The second service, I asked for the amenities which they just left along with towels piled on the counter. The last service was done the afternoon prior to our checkout at 3am the next morning. This was the only time they actually cleaned the entire room and restocked all items. All of which were no benefit to us. The other issue was that construction of a hospital was happening right across the street. The Jack hammering commenced at 6:30am and finished after 9pm most days. While this could not be controlled by the hotel, a visitor needs to be aware as it seems like a long term project and noise could continue to be an issue. We choose this hotel as it was local and it is situated across from the Commons and within walking distance of all major attractions. We definitely would consider staying here again once the hospital construction is complete. Next time we will be more assertive in asking for the cleaning/restocking standards we expected.Show More

We enjoyed five nights at the Atlantica Hotel and used it as a base to explore Halifax. We did not have a car so we used public transit which was totally AWESOME with many bus routes passing within 1 ...We enjoyed five nights at the Atlantica Hotel and used it as a base to explore Halifax. We did not have a car so we used public transit which was totally AWESOME with many bus routes passing within 1 block of the hotel and taking us down to the waterfront in about 15 minutes. Our room was very comfortable to return to. Bed and bedding were very top quality and so comfortable. We ate three times at the Cannery. Food from the menu is very tasty, good sized servings, and competitively priced. The breakfast buffet was probably the weakest part of the whole experience. If you have your own vehicle you will have to pay for parking and navigate construction and a very busy intersection. All in all though, I would recommend this hotel as a good place to stay.Show More
