I always forget you can do this. Only issue was in the beginning when we couldn't find where to park, the staff could certainly be better at explaining this to guests as my friend and I had to ask three times before getting a clear answer as to where we park at/where the parking lot is located. It shouldn't be that confusing (could have said something like, "if you take a right at that stop sign ahead, keep going PAST the turn until you see a lot which says parking (because when you're told, "you wont miss it," well we missed it and you didn't explain where it is which then created us to lose about 1/2-45 mins of waiting around to find someone to help us at the front and then just find it and get our stuff inside)." My only issue with their explanation was that by not saying past the turn, you will not see the lot unless you follow the road and go past the turn on the right. Enough complaining, the services offered were amazing such as room service, the view was amazing, and the room was very cleanly, and they even had lavender sleep stuff for when you go to bed. Their pool is also very warm (heated pool obviously) which I am not a fan of the cold (as to why I enjoyed this:)). The staff compose themselves all in a very professional way, and make sure guests are taken care of, they're very speedy as well but again, can't seem to explain where to park - it was like I was chasing them down for answers. Overall 4/5 stars as only one star should be taken off for the little hiccup in the beginning!Show More

The hotel location is good. Close to the water front and walking distance to some really good bars and restaurants. The room itself was clean and comfortable if a little small. It was quiet though. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. When we arrived we were greeted by professional reception staff. I must admit to being a little disappointed following our previous experience in Toronto as the receptionist in Halifax said she couldn't find my Marriot Bonvoy account but the receptionist in Toronto had no trouble. This meant that despite providing my account number later our stay was not linked to the account and as such we received none of the benefits. I couldn't connect to the WIFI through my account and even though I raised this I was just brushed off. When we arrived in Toronto we were asked if we were celebrating anything and as we were there celebrating our wedding anniversary we were given a room upgrade and there were some treats left in our room. We were not asked when we arrived at the hotel in Halifax and we were there celebrating my significant birthday.Show More

Breakfast was limited in ...There is a lot I like about this hotel - most of its style, location, staff - but ultimately there are too many negatives that I would go somewhere cheaper when I come back. Breakfast was limited in range and quantity, and my table was cleared twice while I was still eating - I had literally been gone seconds, each time; retraining needed there. Gym is a real disappointment, only a cable cross over and some light dumbbells to get you going, unless you're a cardio queen. Seems one lift is (permanently?) out of use, and two are not enough at times when tour groups/conventions are moving about the hotel. Finally, my bathroom had had a really odd makeover. It was mostly up to date (ish) apart from the bath itself, which had some awful 1960s pink 100mm square tiles and similarly dated pipework. Odd, because it would be really cheap to bring those final things up to scratch.Show More

Luckily it was rental and we were able to get a replacement vehicle. There was the hassle of dealing with the rental vehicle company and roadside assistance to retrieve/tow the rental due to the lost key. If this had been a company or personal vehicle, things would have been much worse. The hotel did provide transportation to the Halifax Airport where we were able to get a replacement rental for our 5-hour drive. The hotel offered to reimburse us for any additional rental vehicle charges associated with the lost key and towing charges.Show More
