Rooms clearly haven't been vaccuumed between guests. I found numerous small items on the floor that a vaccuum would have picked up had it been used before my stay. I never saw any of the room service employees with a vaccuum.
I saw 2 (dead) bugs and hair on the bed when entering the room and looking it over
There was hair in the shower as well, stuck to the wall, and the crappy shower curtain which kept billowing into the shower and touching me while showering.
There is hardly any hot water, and the faucets for the showers are broken
The pillows are all WAY too thick - there is no option but to have a super thick, very hard pillow to sleep on at this hotel.
The A/C didn't work well, and isn't on in the hallways, elevators, etc
Only 2 of 6 elevators worked, so there was always difficulties going up or down and long waits for elevator space (they are also each very small)
No water bottles in the room - to get them you need to go ask for some at the front desk and carry them up yourself!
They screwed up some of our reservations, but wouldn't do anything to fix the situtation and we wound up paying for extra rooms.
They have a guy who's whole job is to stand around and guard the entrance to the ATM alcove. He was standing there for hours at a time doing nothing, but when we were trying to take a group photo nearby in the lobby and asked him to help he said no.
The hotel is right next to a music venue, and there are concerts allowed to play music full blast until 11:00pm which can be heard by most rooms in the hotel. Careful if the person checking you in says "I think you'll like this room" - I believe that may be code for "You are getting one of the rooms near the music venue".
There is dust / debris in every corner of this hotel, and along most walls, especially in the rooms - no one is cleaning it well.
They use 1/2 ply toilet paper - literally the thinnest, cheapest, most useless TP they can possibly buy. If they could save a few cents more and offer even worse TP I think they would, it probably just doesn't get any worse.
Towels smell musty even when laundered, they may be towels bought at the same time the carpet in the rooms was - which at this point like it seems must have been very long ago. The whole room smelled kind of musty as well tbh.
Cocktails at the bar are $25 - even though it is the same 1 1/2 oz of alcohol and some juice that others make for $10.
During our stay, a school district hosted the SATs there. I think this was mgmt trying to squeeze out just a bit of extra cash with their property, regardless of the disruption to guests.
Past the second floor, the stairway to get to the lobby looks more disgusting than an old parking garage, but we had to use it and see it often due to the bad elevator options.
This hotel is a decent place to take a photo, as the lobby is pretty nice looking. It is also fairly well located depending on what you are doing in LA. Other than that, I'd stear clear if you are wanting a decent room / hotel experience. I don't know who owns / runs this hotel, but they are not doing a good job imo and resting on their laurels as a place where apparently some movies might have once been filmed.Show More
