Upon arrival, we were given a room with one queen bed and one single bed. According to the hotel manager, a man named Roger, the queen bed was supposed to be shared by three people — two adults and one child. This was already unacceptable.
To make matters worse, we had purchased a “breakfast promotion” offered directly through the hotel’s website. This promotion appeared as a pop-up during the booking process, stating that if you bought breakfast for two adults, the remaining guests would have breakfast “for free.” However, upon check-in, we were informed that the children were not included and that we would need to pay extra for their breakfast.
We spoke with Roger about this issue and even escalated it to the Accor Group, which owns the Ibis brand. Unfortunately, nothing was done. Accor simply stated that the issue had to be resolved locally, refusing to take any responsibility for the misleading communication and promotion used by this hotel. When I chose an Ibis property, I expected reliability and the security that comes with the Accor brand, but we were completely disappointed.
We stayed at this hotel for 12 days, and the only way to have breakfast for everyone was to pay extra for the children or limit ourselves to six days of breakfast. Moreover, the breakfast price listed online was actually higher than the price charged on-site. The breakfast itself was very basic, offering the same items every day, only two kinds of fruit, and no yogurt — which is unacceptable for a continental and Asian breakfast.
Regarding room service, it was also disappointing. On several occasions, we returned at night to find no towels or hygiene products.
Overall, be very careful with this hotel. It offers one thing and delivers another. The so-called “promotions” are misleading, and the management is unhelpful. The manager, Roger, kept saying that this was the hotel’s policy but could not show us any link or document to prove it, only suggesting that we “look for it on the Accor website.”
In summary: I do not recommend Ibis Singapore on Bencoolen. It is a low-quality hotel, with fake promotions, poor service, and no support from the Accor Group.Show More
