This is the second time we have stayed at this Resort (back in 2022 it was under a different name) and we have have not been disappointed. There are different wings to the resort and this time we stay...This is the second time we have stayed at this Resort (back in 2022 it was under a different name) and we have have not been disappointed. There are different wings to the resort and this time we stayed in the newer one. Outrigger appears to have made a number of improvements since a few years ago. The staff is friendly, understanding and accommodating. I made the mistake of booking a room at a different hotel that was infested with roaches and fortunately that fiasco did not ruin our trip when we transferred here instead. I learned my lesson! Under some duress/ stress the front desk staff were very kind in receiving us relatively late at night. As I was paranoid with the thought of pests, the manager and security guard actually accompanied me to the room to preview it and boy was it clean. I can't thank them enough for assuaging my fears and spending the extra time to help their guests. I also appreciate the fact that there are some Native Hawaiian cultural activities offered at this resort that go beyond the typical leisure offerings most of the other places provide. We will definitely stay here again in the future.Show More

None of the amenities one equates with travel in this century were present/available. Bed and pillows were the highlight of the room. Shower had low water pressure and had unusual controls for water temp and direction (there was a rain head in deep need of CLR descaling) and a handheld. Vanity was tiny. Mini fridge leaked water. Card key to room had a mind of its own. We needed three different sets of keys to reliably open the door. Room was dark and cramped. The only dinner restaurant on property had limited options and very inflated prices. This is my 8th trip to Hawaii, so I understand the pricing, but this was beyond. I love travel and am pretty flexible, but this was no bueno. Skip this property.Show More

We informed the hotel that our first room had cockroaches and cockroach eggs all over, and they moved us to another "renovated room" which instead had black mold in the bathroom. Informing the hotel again, they moved us to the top floor room, where we found lizards and other insects roaming freely. We did not feel comfortable staying and cut our trip short, departing from the hotel The hotel did not aid in refunding our stay - only the hotel resort fees. Staff claimed that the cockroaches are a common sight and are to be expected as it is Hawaii.Show More
