8.1(964)8/10 Standard stay with standard amenities, but no complaints!
I was here for two nights for a conference located in the Philadelphia/Marriott Convention Center. The conference block room rates were competitive and slightly cheaper in comparison to other local hotels at $234 a night. Front desk staff made check in and check out very easy. When I called and ask for a late check out by 90 mins I was denied. However, after politely inquiring in person downstairs this was no issue.
I stayed in a standard king sized bed room that had a desk, sitting chair, fridge, TV on the 8th floor. On my floor there was a laundry room that had a microwave if you needed it. The space was clean and I had plenty of linens. I realized that my room didn't have a TV remote later Saturday evening and someone delivered it to me within 30 mins of requesting. Beds were comfortable enough and I slept soundly through the night. A bonus is that the walls at NOT thin so I didn't hear my neighbors.
I have no complaints about my stay and would return again. The true advantage of this location is that it is of course connected to the convention center, but also literally across the street from Reading Terminal and very close to a variety of great restaurants.
Parking here with valet when all is accounted for is $80 essentially per day. You can pay less at the Convention Center garage across the street, but the cheapest is a small open lot I stumbled upon at 13th street behind the hotel that was $50 per 24 hours. You can literally take the 13th street entrance out of the hotel and cross the street immediately to your car. It could not have been more convenient!
In summary Phildelphia Marriott Downtown provided me a comfortable standard hotel experience with pleasant customer service. I would stay here again.

What does it mean to be a returning Marriott Bonvoy guest?
Well it means for a three day stay you get a room next to the elevator shaft.
You get a room with no view other than hotel walls.
You get a room on a lower floor than anyone else in your group attending an event staged at the hotel.
You get FREE INTERNET that will not connect without paying $4 per day to upgrade service.
You also get MARRIOTT BONVOY TV. Do not get too engrossed in watching something as whichever channel you choose the picture will freeze and pixelate and then jump ahead.
Making up the room can be uneven as by 4:30 it was necessary to chase housekeeping to service the room.
Regardless of which part of the hotel your room is the water in the bathroom will be either cold or scalding hot. There is no middle ground! Don't expect to take a shower other than cold water or you'll be a cooked lobster.
Parking is Valet at around $60 per day with tax. We on stopping said we are valet parking for three nights and the attendant brought us a luggage cart and helped unload the car. A friend on arriving for the same event said he didn't want valet parking and there was an argument with his being told he couldn't park for a few minutes to unload and check-in. This was resolved by a second attendant who then said a luggage cart couldn't be used as it was hotel property? Very uneven.
On a positive side the room had many reachable power outlets and USB ports.
It has a safe, refrigerator, iron and ironing board. The bed was comfortable except that the headboard was next to the elevator shaft.
There are many hotels in center city and the only reason to be at this one is if the event you are attending is held here.

8/10 Large, busy, but saved by an outstanding staff
The location of the Downtown Marriott might demand you consider it, you should weigh its size (enormous) and the cost, especially if you're driving and want to park at the hotel. There's not much you can do about the hotel's enormous footprint, and there are some parking options that you can explore ahead of time. The main plus of the hotel is the staff. Most of them were extremely helpful and two, Latoya and Maurice, went out of their way to make sure that the issue I encountered was solved quickly and to my satisfaction. They changed what would have been a horrible stay (if indeed I had stayed) into a very positive experience. Rooms are comfortably in size and housekeeping is amazing. I went to school and worked in Philly, so returning to the city is filled with a fair amount of experience, and I always enjoy returning. The aforementioned front desk folks' willingness to listen and address my concern would be the reason to consider staying here again.

The staff was great. From the very friendly, charming, helpful lady to the waitress at breakfast: every Marriot dstaff member we interacted with was a treat.

8/10 OK hotel in middle of town
I would rate this hotel between a three and a four....and choose to list it as a four. Reasonable, good location, good staff, rooms are clean. Was there for a meeting that involved approximately 500 to 600 people? The elevators are a bit slow...not sure all were working. And with this large crowd coming in on Thursday night and Friday morning, when I checked in on Thursday at about 6:30 PM, about six of us were ready to check in, and one person to deal with us all. So, a number of us walked around to the area for the "special" guests (I forget the name used for these people), and we checked in there. Seemed quite odd that knowing these numbers were coming in for OUR group (not counting others) the check-in area was staffed so meagerly. I will stay here again if I have to (e.g., a meeting being held for a large group on the fourth and fifth floor, but otherwise, I am most likely to look elsewhere.

9/10 Excellent!
Everything went very well. Location was one block-easy walking distance-to the Convention Center. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. All the staff we had dealings with were pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. There was a cafe with sandwiches, snacks and breakfast on site. We did not time to use the restaurant. My only complaint and it really not a complaint is that is was extremely busy which was understandable with all going on. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it.

9/10 Overall, my stay was comfortable, convenient, and enjoyable, with a perfect location and great service.
The location was absolutely perfect, and the overall hotel stay was incredible. The room was very comfortable, and the bed provided a great nightās sleep, though I do wish I had brought my own pillow. The valet service made it much easier to get to our room upon arrival, which was a big help. Additionally, having food delivered to the hotel was a breeze, adding to the convenience of our stay. Overall, Iām very happy with the experience and would highly recommend it.

10/10 I will be back.
This was a mom and daughters trip. Our first time staying in a hotel like this. I usually go for a cost effective facilitydue to it being just an overnight stay. Staff and facilities (hi Blessings and Kevin) are excellent. My name on the tv screen welcoming and sending me home was a very nice touch. For the reason we were there i would stay again. This will be my go to hotel when we cone to Philly.

6/10 Overpriced!
Came to see the Philly Flower Show. Canāt beat the location. The high daily rate goes up for the week. We were disappointed overall. We ordered dinner in. We had two dinners, but only one set of plastic ware was provided. I called the front desk, and they promised to send up another set. Fifteen minutes later and No plastic ware. I finally used my wifeās utensils.
The tv had a habit of freezing up. For the money we spent, I donāt feel that we got our moneyās worth.
