The location is excellent, and the rate was reasonable for being in the historic district. The hotel could use some updating, but the room had the basics we needed — comfortable beds and a hot shower. The stained wallpaper in the bathroom wasn’t ideal, but it wasn’t a dealbreaker since we didn’t plan to spend much time in the room. Unfortunately, the stay took a turn for the worse. When we returned to the hotel around 10:30pm, we could hear loud music with heavy bass. We assumed it would stop, but it continued to get louder as the night went on. We contacted the front desk at 1am and were told security would address it, yet the music persisted until about 6:30am. We called every hour, and each time were told that nothing could be heard on their end. By the time the noise finally stopped, we had gotten about three hours of sleep. The next morning, the front desk offered to validate our parking and provided a card for the Director, but the overall response did not come close to resolving such a terrible night. As a frequent business traveler, this was easily one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously. The location and staff have potential, but no guest should have to endure a full night without sleep due to preventable noise issues.Show More

On a Saturday morning at 7AM, guests were loudly woken up by the hotel’s union going on strike...What should have been a pleasant and relaxing weekend turned into a a noisy and uncomfortable experience. On a Saturday morning at 7AM, guests were loudly woken up by the hotel’s union going on strike. The sounds of megaphones and echoed all through throughout the streets and was impossible to escape. The noise continued the next morning. Hotel management simply offered a cheap continental breakfast of a few pasties as compensation, as if any one wanted to enjoy a paltry selection of pastries next to all of that noise. It says a lot about the management here for employees to react this way, and therefore create a terrible experience for guests who pay a lot of money to stay here. When I asked what else they would be be doing to compensate, the desk agent told me that parking would be waved. But when I checked my statement and receipt, parking was charged anyway! I called the desk to have them correct the issue, and the manager simply said that desk agent should not have told me that. THEY LIED TO ME TO GET ME OUT OF THE DOOR! This hotel is a complete and utter failure in every way. Rooms are dated, parking is overpriced, they don’t treat their low employees well, and management will lie to you to try and appease you only to screw you over on the back end.Show More
