The hotel has recently undergone a significant renovation to the lobby areas, check in, and lounges, as well as some rooms. The gulf coast tower rooms are the newest rooms. The room was nice from a design perspective. Bed mattress was a bit firm for my taste. Bed pillows were awful cheap foam pillows - had to request feather pillows. Towels were fluffy generally - one of my pet peeves. WiFi was good and reliable. Bottled water in rooms along with coffee and tea options. Housekeeping neglected to refill cream and sugar on multiple days. There is a small refrigerator in room as well as a safe for valuables. Includes an iron/ironing board. Hangers were kind of cheap and there were not enough. Plenty of light. Bathroom was a bit small, with toiletries from a couple of brands - not consistently replaced by housekeeping either. Restaurants on site are a bit limited but the steakhouse is very good. The hotel is centered by a huge indoor atrium with plants and water areas and live alligators in some (caged). The outdoor pool area is nice with a new lazy river type area added. You need to reserve lounge chairs so be warned. The cabanas were ridiculously expensive - over $600 for a Saturday and more expensive than a Vegas hotel pool cabana. Service quality was inconsistent - multiple calls to their “Consider It Done” number were needed for requests, and many went unrecognized by housekeeping and requests ultimately not fulfilled - that’s disappointing. Overall the hotel was nice in the updated new rooms.

2/10 Awful check in experience, unhelpful employees
First time regretting a hotel stay, I messaged their team through the Marriott app when they charged my card and assigned my room to have them process my mobile key. They refused, I screwed up because I didn't book far enough ahead of time. So I'm waiting just under half a hour in the elite check in line, it's late, I'm tired, just had a awful drive down 4 and if I had booked any Hilton brand I would be relaxing in a room right now. I ask for him to active the mobile key and he proceeds to pull out maps and wasteful plastic key cards and go through this long explanation of the hotel, now I know why the line is so brutal. I researched this place extensively before booking. After it all, I ask once again for him to activate the key, "oh, okay" then I'm blocked in a sea of cars waiting another 15 mins to get unstuck to get to the self park lot. They have my Marriott loyalty account, which has my ID, status level, credit cards, personal information, it locked with a password and two factor authentication, even has my real time location, but none of that matters to them, they need to take a passing glance at a plastic card that could very be easily forged. Hilton is still light-years ahead of Marriott when it comes to consistent contactless digital check in, kinda figured Marriott would have caught up by now. Other than that, it was a pretty restless weekend. Stuck in a room near the lobby was super loud all night, was very ready to leave this place after two rough nights and get some rest.

10/10 Newly renovated and looking great!
We came for an escape from single digit temps in Chicago, and the Gaylord Palms did not disappoint! The resort is massive with so much to see and do, whether you're a child or an adult. It was a cool weekend when it comes to Florida, so the pool areas weren't too crowded, but there is a pool for every type of swimming you may want to do and plenty of chairs by each one of them.
Our room was in the Emerald Bay section, which just completed renovations in January. It had the "new construction" smell still and was immaculate. Our room overlooked the atrium, which had a light show in the evening the first couple nights we were there. The beds are firm, but comfortable, and there are plenty of outlets to charge all your devices.
We ate at their breakfast buffet one day and really enjoyed it. It's $35pp, which is high, but the food was pretty high quality for a buffet. We didn't eat at any of their other restaurants, but they have a few different concepts on site. If you don't mind walking, the hotel is about a 20 minute walk from "World of Food Trucks", which in an installation of 70 food trucks that serve all types of Latin inspired cuisine, Italian, and classic American. Definitely not something to miss!
This hotel is great for couples and, of course, families, due to its close proximity to WDW and the free shuttle service to the parks.
As my wife and I are expecting our first child, the Gaylord Palms will definitely be a place we stay in the future! We look forward to seeing you again!

5/10 They need a new cleaning service.
They have a Juicery, and a Star Bucks
All the Food restaurants were wonderful and delicious.
The shopping was fantastic too.
I love the Habitat in the Atrium! The trees, animals and decorations give a relaxing feeling.
The check in staff fantastic!
Overall I truly do like staying there just wished they would get better Housekeeping.

10/10 The Fayes at Gaylord Palms
We had an absolute fun time at this property recently renovated. This was our first time staying here and we highly recommended it especially if you have kids cause the property has many amenities and things to see such as baby alligator, fishes and it was very entertaining. Our checking was very smooth and shout out to Sadie at the front desk she is just wonderful providing all details about the properties. Room was nice restaurants great, and pool was the kids was great we play basketball in the pool and was fun. will be back soon. thanks for the hospitality. The Fayes!

Parking is very confusing w the room key access. No place to temporarily park to check in and get the key. So you go into parking without a key and when you check out, we didn't know you need to hold onto one room key to exit. I had to go in and get a key again to get out of parking. This needs to be streamlined especially since majority of people drive in.

5/10 Very over crowded and over sold.
Hotel was beautiful, but there were far too many people booked into the space. The rooms were very nice but we couldn’t leave the room without being confronted with walls of people.

Massive resort mixing business people attending the convention center and tourists having a good time in a Disneyworld environment. Friendly and professional staff, pleasant atmosphere, certain parts a bit ageing, but all in all a very nice place.

Got to the hotel late at night. When I went to take a shower, the towels were dirty with makeup stains. Called to get the towels changed and they never came. When I called again they said they delivered them. They did not.
