The size of the hotel was just amazing. But once you peel back through the facade, our experience was quite disappointing. We spent 4 nights at the Gaylord (we are still on our final night). Here fo...The size of the hotel was just amazing. But once you peel back through the facade, our experience was quite disappointing. We spent 4 nights at the Gaylord (we are still on our final night). Here for conference and also had some time to use the hotel amenities. Checking in was a breeze. Perhaps it was because we checked in at 9:30pm. We are Marriott Titanium Elite members and was not offered any type of benefits as a member. Our suite night upgrade request was denied, but they ended up giving us a last minute upgrade in the end. The amenities were good. The pool was nice and clean. Their other attractions were amazing. We stayed in a one bedroom suite and it was huge. Everything seems to be modern and good shape. The one issue was the noise from the elevator shaft. It was pretty loud, but we dealt with it. Why are we giving this a 3 star? It should really be a 3.5. The service was the reason. No real appreciation for loyalty members. The phone hold time to talk to someone was 5-10 minutes. We called to change on site restaurant reservation and the concierge was useless that I ended up having to go down to the restaurant to make the arrangements myself. We requested for car rental and all the concierge did was connect us with Enterprise 800 number. The most disappointing was the late check out request. Being a loyalty member, we get a 4pm late check out. Of course, they could not honor that. They said that they are fully committed (on a Thursday). I find that to be a very common excuse. It’s not so much the denial, but the way it was conveyed that was disappointing. It felt a bit manufactured. Like it was a hotel policy to deny benefits to its loyalty members. Would I stay here again? Only if we attend a conference here. Would I recommend? If you are on family vacation, maybe. If it’s less expensive than the Swan and Dolphins.Show More

We were told that the kid's waterpark area of the pool was still closed for renovation. There is 0 mention of this anywhere on the website. This was our main reason for booking the hotel. Felt a little bait and switched. We were offered to cancel our reservation and find an alternative. At this point, we didn't have enough points to re-book any other hotel. They were trying to work a deal with another hotel, but we ended up staying. As a Bonvoy Platinum member, as consolation, they upgraded us to the best room with the best view of the light show. It was a great room, but was above a laundry room. So you could hear laundry being done at all hours. They provided us with "complimentary alcohol" which ended up being a 1/4 bottle of champagne. The "snack box" for the kids was nothing you'd give to a 4 & 1 year old. Not age appropriate at all. We ate at the breakfast buffet, the sports bar and ordered room service. We also got things from the market on a few occasions. Other restaurants were not open early enough to be conducive with younger children and bedtimes. No complaints on the food front other than not being able to try other restaurants. The waterpark was fun with the exception of the kid's section staring at us every time we went out there and our kids not being able to play on it. $35 for the wave rider was a bit steep, so didn't try that. The 3 adult water slides were fun. We didn't try the lazy river in the end. Just ran out of time. Our children enjoyed saying good morning and good night to the resident alligators. I think we'd return if we had assurances that the kids area of the waterpark would be open. That's our main reasoning for not leaving a 5 star review was there was 0 awareness that the kid's area was actually closed until we arrived.Show More

I went down it once and felt every joint. I have a photo of how red my back was after one slide. My eldest son had scratches on his back for 4 days. My middle son cracked his head on it - massive lump and a mark. 2. Breakfast is truly awful. Such a poor selection in general. Fruit...melon and grapes. For $40+tax, it was a joke. The eggs benedict was sitting out and cold. Poor selection of pastries, cheeses. No milk out - you have to ask and get it in wee plastic tubs. Just odd. So for a family of 5 and paying $140, it's so disappointing. We ended up driving to Celebration, which is not ideal. 3. You pay a resort fee, yet there are loungers by the pool that are 'reserved'. Even when the place is dead, they do this. It feels like a cheap skate cash grab. So they basically make you pay to sit right next to the pool. And the other loungers? All tied together so you can't move them - shows the mentality of the place. Terrible. 4. They don't look after Bonvoy members at all. I'm Platinum Elite and we got free breakfast at the JW Marriott and St Regis on this trip. Here, £10 for a 5 night stay. Woeful. The rooms are high-end. Just been renovated and are stylish and nice places to be. They are cleaned well. So if you're just looking for a place to stay, it's probably fine.Show More

Tickets vary for different packages to fill an hour (Basic) to a full day (Gold). Keep in mind parking is not included so add another $40. The entire Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Christmas Special is brought to life with scene after scene of displays and iced sculpted colorful characters with great detail. Be prepared, dress warm in layers include ear muffs and gloves. Get in line, grab a supplied blue coat, get your parties picture taken and move into the North Pole following the story line. We were underdressed and very cold, so we definitely moved through it a little faster than we should have, stopping for a few pictures, crawling through ice mazes and sliding down the ice luge. Once out and warmed up, walk the halls of decorations, concessions, slide down the giant Ice luge, build gingerbread houses, snowball canon opportunities, vist Santa/Mrs Claus, make a gingerbread house or have a libation. We also discovered just how beautiful the Gaylord Hotel is. Enjoy!Show More
