I have already spoken with the manager regarding try stay and the way in which I was treated. I hope that I am never asked to stay at this hotel again. Perhaps they will be able to improve the trai...I have already spoken with the manager regarding try stay and the way in which I was treated. I hope that I am never asked to stay at this hotel again. Perhaps they will be able to improve the training of their front desk, phone, and housekeeping staff. Hotels should not acknowledge a request and confirm that request with the guest, then not take any action to resolve it. What compounded the issue was the fact that they don’t answer their phones. Upon trying to call the front desk, housekeeping, sales and in a last effort accounting. Using both the house phone and my mobile. All went unanswered over a 45 minute period. The phone system loop keeps repeating when there is no answer at a given extension. I ultimately went to the front desk (on two different occasions that day) to discuss this with staff. I found that the check in, the concierge and the valet were all unattended. I tried to resolve this In the late afternoon and then again around 9 pm. I respect that we all need breaks and emergencies can arise but there was no one covering to assist. Not being unable to speak with a staff member made this feel as though the staff looked at me and decided to ignore me. I assume that if the desk staff were in a break area, they would have a way to monitor the lobby in order to respond. In retrospect the empty lobby made me feel as though it was done on a personal level. To their credit they were able to guide me to a convenience store where I was able to purchase toothpaste. In the past I have found that hotels promoted at this level usually have essentials either available for purchase in the lobby or provide things like toothpaste as a convenience for guests that had forgotten something. In addition, there was extremely loud construction one night of my stay that lasted until 2:30 Am. When I called after my stay, the manager had no record of any active projects inside the building. I assume it was roadwork being done in the area. A good hotel would make an effort to learn of something like this before a guest checks in. Especially any on going overnight construction projects in the area. A member of our group was on a higher floor and the sound did not impact their stay. We came as a group of 5 and 4 were unable to sleep that night because of the noise. If warned we may have requested different rooms or prepared ourselves for the noise with earplugs. When I spoke with the manager today, after a long time within the phone system loop, she credited 1 night of my stay as a way to compensate me for the cleaning issue. As this was the only issue they had a record of in their system. I had only reached out because I had not received my invoice for my stay by email as I was told the previous night. I did not call them afterwards to ask for any refund or apology. I would strongly recommend that you stay away from this business and choose one of the branded hotels in the area.Show More

Observations on Property and Room Condition: The lobby area was attractively decorated for the holiday season and generally well-maintained. Our room was spacious and clean. However, the overall condition suggests that a comprehensive renovation is necessary to meet current guest expectations. The bathroom specifically requires immediate attention. Issues noted include a loose toilet seat, significantly diminished water pressure in the shower, and visible, pervasive water damage. Feedback on Services and Amenities (Breakfast Credit): The "included" breakfast was provided as a non-refundable $35 daily credit. We would recommend future guests consider local dining options. We were disappointed to find the main hotel restaurant unexpectedly closed without prior notification or clear guidance on alternative ways to utilize the non-refundable credit. When inquiring at reception, the staff member initially seemed unsure of alternative options. Upon further inquiry, we were directed to the attached coffee shop. The lone staff member at the coffee shop was pleasant and worked diligently, though the unexpected crowd due to the restaurant closure clearly led to visible stress. The closet space...We had a really nice overnight stay at The Georgian Terrance. The historic hotel is beautiful, the staff were friendly and courteous, the room was large, clean, and bed was so comfy. The closet space alone was as big as most hotel rooms. The location is great, in midtown, right across the street from the Fox Theatre where we attended a concert. We drove to the hotel, and self parking, $45/night, was easy enough in their garage. It gets really busy when it opens up to the public to park during events close to start time, so try to check in and park earlier if possible. They also had valet parking. We didn't eat at the restaurant or coffee shop which does not stay open late so can't speak to those. Only a few minor detractions during our visit. The bathroom was nice and roomy but was missing the stopper in the sink, so if you dropped something down there, like a contact, it would be a goner. Another thing that was inconvenient was there was no fridge or microwave in the room which is pretty much a standard in hotels these days. I believe there are some rooms that have them, you would have to ask for one of those rooms. Lastly, there is only one elevator working, and at times can be really slow, like when we waited for about 10-15 minutes to get to the lobby from the 16th floor. Other times it was pretty quick when less busy. Some furniture and paint needed updating but did not detract from our stay at all . Overall, we would definitely stay again, especially if attending an event in that area, and we recommend it to others.Show More
