great stay but customer service was subpar compared to other Westin locations. I have been to Anaheim, Costa Mesa and Phuket Thailand. 1) had issues with the phone. it took maintenance 2 days and 3 ...great stay but customer service was subpar compared to other Westin locations. I have been to Anaheim, Costa Mesa and Phuket Thailand. 1) had issues with the phone. it took maintenance 2 days and 3 requests to come check on my phone. The issue was that none of the buttons for services were working. anytime i had question to reception or wanted room service, i had to go down stairs to do so with the receptionist. It was an inconvenience. When the maintenance staff came up to check on the phone, the workaround was to press speaker and then press 0 for the operator who can then transfer you to whomever. My only complaint was that there is no literature at all that reflects this workaround. I didn't get a new phone but was told that is how to use the current phone. When i clearly read the instructions listed on the phone and the literature, it simply does not work as indicated. 2) requested laundry express service, was also told it would be brought to my room by 630pm if dropped off by 0830am. I had to go downstairs (because i couldn't call down due to phone not working) to inquire about my laundry service. When i received it, there was not a total amount listed on the receipt. so it was not clear as to the cost. it came more of a surprise on the invoice upon check out. if things were taken in a proactive approach than a reactive approach, i think my experience would've been better. It was a good stay compared to regular hotels but it dId lack compared to other Westin location. I expected that someone would've came out immediately to check on my phone and get it swapped out with one that is working to standard. I didn't think i would have to follow up several times. This was also the first time i ordered room service via receptionist. Didn't think my first time doing so would be at the Westin to tell you the truth. i wish there was more clarity on the laundry service. I had a blanket, which was not listed on the items to choose from so we were not sure what to select but we selected T shirt. Staff told me that laundry will be brought back to room by 630pm. i went down to inquire after laundry was not brought to room. i inquired at 845pm; i was able to retrieve it. i stayed in room 523Show More

The reception never even acknowledges that we were there celebrating our 23rd anniversary or that we were celebrating a special occasion. Since being noted on our reservation. We received an email with check-in information a day before offering breakfast on us with a link. The link didn’t work so I contacted the hotel which they did not get back to me for the vouchers for the breakfast. Upon arrival I mentioned this to the Front Desk at which she stated they have that complaint all the time, but there was nothing she could do to give us the vouchers for breakfast. If this is an ongoing complaint why hasn’t it been addressed. We get to our room the safe does not work and the chair has a huge hole in the arm, front desk sent security up with keys to an adjacent room for us to switch rooms. The restaurant waiters which were exceptional kept asking us for our vouchers because everybody going in there ahead of us had vouchers except us, which was absolutely ridiculous since we were offered free breakfast and they knew we were staying there. I had screenshot the email showing the breakfast offer and they did absolutely nothing, I wasn’t looking for nothing for free that wasn’t offered. Our next hotel in LaJolla the receptionist acknowledged our anniversary, had a beautiful note on the bed and full free breakfast daily. Only a 15 minute drive into the city. It was hot outside, and the room stayed around 75 degrees or warmer the entire time. I couldn’t sleep properly because it never cooled down. Engineering came by several times. Each visit ended with, “it should be fixed now,” until they eventually acknowledged it couldn’t be repaired. Instead of offering to move me to another property, management told me they would make it right with Bonvoy points. Only a portion of those points ever showed up, even after multiple follow-up calls. I left messages for both the manager and his supervisor, and neither ever called me back. After I posted about this, the hotel responded publicly, saying they appreciated the feedback and asked me to reach out again so they could resolve it. I did exactly that. The only reply I received was a message saying they didn’t plan to honor the original commitment and wouldn’t be offering anything further. To be clear: the AC never worked, it couldn’t be repaired, management promised compensation, and only part of that was delivered. Months of follow-up led nowhere, and even after inviting me to contact them again, they declined to follow through. I’m sharing this so future guests have an accurate sense of how unresolved issues are handled here.Show More
