They go out of their way to do everything possible to make sure we feel welcome and co...While your property is very nice, it is the staff at this hotel that makes you number ONE across the board to me. They go out of their way to do everything possible to make sure we feel welcome and comfortable. I recently have stayed nearly two weeks straight here because my husband was in the hospital at UCSD and had unexpected heart surgery. My stay was often booked day by day as it was completely unplanned and uncertain as to duration before we could return home. Everyone there became like family over that stay and could not have been kinder or more compassionate. After his discharge we stayed the night because he was released during rush hour and a rain storm, not ideal for a two hour drive home after major surgery. It was fortunate we did because the morning of our planned departure my husband had a scary moment where I had to call the paramedics and have him taken back to the ED. Security came up and waited with me while we waited for the medics. They, too, were very caring and helpful. After a few hours there we returned to our room as they had kindly gone ahead and extended our stay one more night. On our departure we received a warm send off and returned home. I’m not sure I could have gotten through that week as well as I did without their warmth and kindness. While all were wonderful, please give special thanks to Renee, Brandy, Paulina, Julia, Carolyn, Thalles, Napoleon, Sierra and Sylvia (in Presto Cafe). You have an amazing group and they should be acknowledged as such. We look forward to our next return and it’s your staff even above your great property who make you our “go to” each visit to San Diego.Show More

My stay at this hotel was like a comedy of errors. When I tried getting into my room, the key wouldn’t work, so the front desk said they were sending up security. Ten minutes later, I called back, and...My stay at this hotel was like a comedy of errors. When I tried getting into my room, the key wouldn’t work, so the front desk said they were sending up security. Ten minutes later, I called back, and suggested I just come down and get a new key, but they told me security was already on their way…and sure enough, after three more phone calls and 30 minutes, they showed up to let me into the room. I requested a roll-away bed to be set up before I arrived. The front desk staff assured me in writing it would be set up…of course, it was not there, and took another hour to arrive. The QR code in the room leads you to a “knock and drop” room service option, which I planned to use with a $50 hotel credit I booked, however, this service has now been discontinued. I was also surprised that the breakfast cafe doesn’t allow you to take a plate up to your room…I’ve stayed at nearly 100 Hiltons around the world, and have never experienced this policy before. Attached are a few photos of interesting features of the hotel: an employee smoking/break area next to the main gas line, the inaccessible employee EV station, and old bandaids holding up some sort of device in my room. I parked in the hotel garage behind a hotel junk pile, with old appliances, vacuums, and furniture strewn everywhere…great welcome to the hotel! All the hotel staff were very friendly…but the overall experience was definitely not up to Hilton standards…not even Motel 6 standards.Show More

The room was clean, check-in was smooth, and the staff on-site were friendly and welcoming. The location is perfect for a staycation — central, walkable, and convenient. However, the business side of Hilton was extremely disappointing. Due to an honest booking error, I was charged $340 for a reservation I never used (booked for the wrong weekend). I immediately rebooked for the correct dates and even extended my stay by a day — so Hilton actually made more money from me in the end. Despite this, corporate refused to issue a refund and ignored the opportunity to make it right. It’s frustrating to see corporate greed override common sense and customer care. The hotel experience was great — but the lack of accountability from Hilton’s management left a bad taste. Just know that if anything goes wrong with your booking, you may be on your own.Show More
