However, I found about them via...This place needs a makeover, but first it could use a deep cleaning. When I checked in, I was not informed about the ongoing renovations and/or repairs to the elevator. However, I found about them via a note from the manager that I nearly didn’t see on the dresser. The note alerted guests to the possibility of intermittent water access and noise from contractors; the message promised it would be during non-disruptive hours. I was early to check-in, but once I was assigned a room I was told it was “upgraded,” to a water view. Nice view, but the carpet in my room was stained near the desk by what I hope was a beverage. There was a persistent drilling sound during the day. Staff offered to move me to another room, but I told them I couldn’t risk being moved to a room where the water might be out during my business trip (apparently my room was safe from water outages). In addition, there were streaks of either dirt or dust on the carpet, especially near the baseboards. These streaks extended to the dust ruffle of the bed. This was concerning because I still can’t discern what it was; hopefully not mold. A beverage was spilled on one of the bedside tables at some point; just never properly cleaned, so it was covered in sticky residue. The bathroom sink drained really slowly, almost like it was backing up. There were frequent gurgling sounds coming from the pipes of the tub, toilet and sink in the morning and evening. I reported this issue. Engineering allegedly visited the room while I was out. There was no change. The mattress and pillow were painfully soft and unusually unsupportive. I never been in a bed where it looks like you sunk down to the boxsprings when you get up in the morning. My stay was all-around uncomfortable. However, all the staff I encountered were polite and courteous. I hope for their sake the renovations get done soon; the team deserves to work in a hotel that represents the quality of their professionalism.Show More
