The hotel is located near Capital Hill which was great because that is where we would spend most of ...Stayed here while at a professional event. This was the designated hotel for the stay and activity. The hotel is located near Capital Hill which was great because that is where we would spend most of our time. The staff at the hotel was also very professional and friendly, which is why I gave it a 3 stars. However, because I am a Hilton Honors member I chose the room I would be staying (7th floor). I arrived late due to a flight delay and my niece who was meeting me there checked in for us. She stated when she got to the room it was not ready so she went to the desk and they assigned another room. The room that was assigned was on the 4th floor and had no view, and the lighting in the room was awful, even with the curtains open during the day the lighting wasn't great since the view was blocked by an outside wall area. Anyway, the room was way overdue for a renovation, as the furnishings and carpet were quite outdated. The hotel itself (lobby area, bar, meeting rooms) were actually really nice and otherwise deceiving. We did have breakfast in the restaurant on the last day and the food was good and staff was lovely and helpful. I usually choose Hilton or M******* hotels when traveling, but this location for me was subpar to what I expect from this brand. If I attend the event next year I will stay at an offside hotel.show more

Two times we were gone all day and the room wasn’t clean. Time one we called to have it made up and they said we left our DND on, we didn’t. So time two we called when we left for the day, just to be sure it would be cleaned, it wasn’t. 2. The hotel bar has great staff and great food! But not open until 4:30, felt like most of the day there was nowhere to eat…tons of options around, but when you come back late afternoon and want a nibble or a drink, you are out of luck. There are people in the lounge area (center of hotel/hub if you will) all day working, meeting…but no food or drink available. 3. Diamond members do not have an area to check in. Not a huge deal and they gave us points, but it was a long wait and one of the nice perks of being diamond is not having to wait in the long convention check-in lines. All 1st world problems but all in all great spot, kind staff and highly recommendshow more

He exceeded expectations in terms of answering all our...The instant we stepped at the Capital Hilton Hill, Frank made our experience worthwhile. His warm and friendly service greeted us from the start. He exceeded expectations in terms of answering all our questions and made us comfortable throughout our stay. The room itself was stunning, clean, and had an incredible atmosphere that it was easy to relax in. What really stood out though was Frank's thoughtfulness and his recommendations. He recommended fantastic restaurants like founding farmer and PJ Clark and directed us to some great spots like the Botanic Garden and some of the museums. His recommendations allowed us to make the most of our vacation and visit so much more than we would have done if we'd been traveling on our own. Thanks to Frank, our stay was not only smooth but also one we will always cherish. Frank truly made our stay worthwhile, and we can never thank him enough. We highly recommend staying here and hope that other people have the chance to experience Frank's superb service.show more

I witnessed him remain calm and composed under pressure as a trio of in-house guests lambasted him over the mandatory $30 fee, which, of course, applies to everyone. His handling of the situation was diplomacy in action at another level. Although the overall quality of Hilton has declined in recent years — with overcharges, the removal of executive lounges, no welcome amenities beyond a meager 200 points — Franck transformed my personal experience into something reminiscent of what Hilton once stood for. As a loyal Hilton member since 1997, I feel entitled to say that Franck demonstrates true mastery of the hospitality business at his fingertips. With a Washingtonian flair, he made the Hilton Capital feel like the Shangri-La. Many thanks to Franck for upholding the legacy of this historic institution in the nation’s capital.show more
