15th September- Arrived at the hotel at 2200 after travelling for 20+ hours to be told that, despite having had a reservation for some months, there were no rooms available! After some considerable ti...15th September- Arrived at the hotel at 2200 after travelling for 20+ hours to be told that, despite having had a reservation for some months, there were no rooms available! After some considerable time we were told that another hotel had been reserved for us for 2 nights after which we could be accommodated back in the Washington Hilton. The Hilton staff were unable to arrange any transportation for us so I paid for a car on my Uber account. Upon arrival at the DuPont Circle hotel, it transpired that they only had a room for that night but no availability for the following night. Next day the Hilton front desk wanted to move us to a third hotel before then accepting us back to the Washington Hilton. 3 hotel moves in a four day stay was not acceptable. Our travel agent, Trailfinders, then booked us into another hotel for the final 3 nights in Washington.show more

I had a RAT in my room on the 4th floor. WTH?!! it came out from under my night stand at 1 am while I was reading. The worst part is that when I called the front desk to inform them of this while I'm ...I had a RAT in my room on the 4th floor. The worst part is that when I called the front desk to inform them of this while I'm freaking out about it, no one I talked to was shocked or surprised to hear that. I spoke to 3 people that night. They just calmly offered to move me to another room and throw some points at me... WOW!!! if you google 'rat infestation' for this property, you'll see that other guests have reported this as well --including a rat in a meeting room! Unbelievable... i now have PTSD. Agh!! it was definitely a first. And, never mind what a health and safety issue this is for guests.. time to tear this property down as it's dreary and run down and now run over by rats and who knows what else....show more

We had multiple rooms for Thanksgiving and every aspect of the service was on point. It started when I went to check in early, Dawit was extremely attentive he found me a room was immediately available. Shikeeb, his manager, provided additional support to make sure I was comfortable. To be clear, I was significantly early and they still worked to accommodate me. This theme continued throughout the stay - every individual we interacted with - housekeeping, guest services, the shop and the restaurant had a strong focus on client satisfaction. I stay at a lot of hotels and am a Marriott Ambassador - but I have not received this kind of service. This is a reason to switch my allegiance to Hilton.show more
