A nice hotel, that has been recently renovated with all the services you would expect of a premium DC hotel. The hotel is huge, over 700 rooms, and feels that way. The Lobby is grand and is enjoyable ...A nice hotel, that has been recently renovated with all the services you would expect of a premium DC hotel. The hotel is huge, over 700 rooms, and feels that way. The Lobby is grand and is enjoyable to sit in when there isn't a conference type event going on. The service was kind and fast at check-in, and continued to be kind and quick to resolve issues during my stay. It certainly didn't feel personal, but you're not staying at a Grand Hyatt for personalized service. If you'd like that within the Hyatt portfolio, the Park Hyatt or Thompson are going to be better bets. Against competitors this is slightly better than the even large JW Marriott though I never got turndown service like I did at the JW. And this is of course more premium than your typical Marriott, Westin, or Hilton property. I however would rather do the Ritz or St. Regis if prices are anywhere within a 25% difference. We did have the water pressure low in the shower, they quickly fixed that sending up engineering. The menu here isn't bad either with sushi and french food. Hard to complain about anything, and honestly lots to be thankful for at this hotel. I might stay here again, but I wouldn't call it luxury.show more

Centrally located in Penn Quarter with dir...My recent October weekend at the Grand Hyatt Washington DC was elevated by the outstanding Grand Club lounge and the impeccable service of attendant Jasmine. Centrally located in Penn Quarter with direct Metro Center access, the hotel's newly renovated 902 rooms include spacious club-access suites (around 400 sq ft) featuring plush Grand Beds, rainfall showers, and high-speed Wi-Fi. The Grand Club offered complimentary all-day refreshments, artisanal coffee, pastries, and evening hors d'oeuvres like charcuterie and hot items. Its wonderful design with ample seating and city views provided a serene work-relax haven. Jasmine truly went above and beyond. Overhearing my work email issues, she secured a quiet Wi-Fi nook, printed the documents I needed in minutes, and then prepared a snack tray with a personal note. Her proactive, warm attentiveness made me and my family feel truly cared for. Though it’s a little pricey, it's a steal for this luxury. Jasmine's magic made it unforgettable. Five stars!show more

It was a long weekend trip to do some sightseeing and relaxing. This hotel is in prime location, walkable to most attractions and the subway is underneath the hotel!!!. The room was very very clean with daily cleaning service. Bathroom was also spotless. There was not a lot of noise from outside. The only complain were the pillows. Very soft and flat. Make sure you book your room with club lounge access. The lounge was one of the best I’ve been so far. Serving full breakfast buffet, snacks, different dinners every day and dessert spread. You don’t even have to go out and eat exclusively at the lounge. Starting at 5 pm they have discounted alcohol. Shoutout to May (in the lounge) and the rest of the staff there. Amazing energy and so kind to everyone. I hope everyone is tipping them for their excellent service because they deserve it. I highly recommend the hotel for a gateway.show more

Even with the hotel restaurant being under construction, the hotel made accomodations to offer plenty of other in-house options and is surrounded by so many great restaurants, it didn't detract from my stay in one bit. Most notable is the level of guest service here. Every staff member with whom I interacted was pleasant, accomodating and informative, with so many smiles to go around. If you have an opportunity to book a Club Level room, please do, as you won't be disappointed. The offerings and hours are better than any other Hyatt at which I've stayed in the past five years, and it's a lovely place to sit if you are between meetings or sightseeing ventures. Thank you Grand Hyatt Washington - I will be back!show more
