This location is unbelievably close to the a...I stayed here due to attending a conference with the Truck Safety Coalition. Having never been to Washington, DC, I didn't know what exactly to expect. This location is unbelievably close to the airport. It took NO time to transfer both with and without traffic. Upon arrival, Hannibal, the guest services rep, was MORE than gracious with directions, information, and suggestions. Following check-in, I went to my room and was definitely surprised. The accomodations were far beyond what I expected. The bed felt like a dream...possibly brand new! The pillows were so soft! The robes and umbrellas that were provided in the rooms... just WOW! The room was well designed/decorated/ventilated. EVERY hotel staff member was exceptional! The staff in the "market/coffee shop" were so polite and knew what their store carried and placement within it! The bar staff seemed to work their butts off each night my group was there, as did the kitchen staff! *As a bonus, I was able to extend my stay in my room by the hour on the day of my check out because my plane wasn't leaving until early evening! I cannot say enough about this experience. The hotel was icing on the cake for my first trip to Capitol Hill! I hope my yearly meeting will remain at this hotel! It is such a treat.show more

Taxis line up out front and at least one of the sightseeing tours stops here. Great location. Sheets and towels are new and above average. Huge TVs and decent mini-fridge. Not all of the 1 bedroom exec suites are the same - ours had inches of closet space to hang things while a family member had a huge clothes rack and a much bigger room (which they needed for 2 kids). All of the staff from the front desk to the dining room to the maids to the valet were cheerful, helpful, and friendly. The hotel in general is new and immaculately clean and we saw nothing that was damaged or broken. The pool is indoors and bigger than it looks in the pics - but the ventilation system was very loud. Managers rounded regularly. Huge workout space with upgraded equipment. The restaurant was good for buffet breakfast and they will make an omelette to order. Kids pay their age, a definite plus! We did not eat other meals there. Beware Hyatt's online reservation system - I "modified" our reservation to a lower price prior to arrival, but failed to print it out and their system charged me the original reservation price. If you do this be sure to bring your proof.show more

We took the silver line metro from Dulles Airport to Capitol South station $5. Takes a hour and then a beautiful 15 minute walk past the Capitol. Metro has convenient tap in/out system using your own card/phone. Hotel has been recently refurbished and our twin queen room was clean, comfortable and good value for the location. There is a Starbucks in the lobby. The restaurant refurbishment seems out of date already as it’s pretty drab, but our evening meal was good quality and the staff were very pleasant. It’s predominantly a conference centre, but obviously there are room deals are on quieter days which make it an attractive tourist destination. What surprised us was the lack of restaurants in the immediate vicinity. We were so relieved to discover Tatte. A wonderful bakery/cafe/deli 10 minutes walk north through Georgetown Law Center garden. Would choose that every day over the hotel breakfast.show more

Guest rooms were spacious and well-appointed, very modern but cozy at the same time. All the common areas and meeting rooms were in good condition, washrooms nearby, etc. Restaurant and bar offered friendly service and good food and drinks. All of the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Location was great for us since our conference team arranges an early morning walk before events start for the day, and being right down from the Capital Building was wonderful for this - of course we had a great walk by other nearby areas of interest as well. Unique and fun restaurants abound. I have not spend much time in the DC area, and while we worked all day attending the conference training, it was wonderful to have a beautiful city to have a bite out in or take a guide trolley tour of the city's sites.show more
