First class Service Unforgettable This is my second time staying at his beautiful Hotel .This is one of my Favourite Hotels in Vietnam . What can I say, They treat you like you are special actually! every guest is special . The Dining staff also were fantastic , I was also upgraded to another room and was so surprised, Not only that we were given complimentary Transfers to the Airport on departing . Jack Julie, Lillian, Grace and many of the staff during my stay treated me like I was family . The location is great close to everything shopping the lake plenty of options The rooms were clean and nicely appointed if you had concerns you only needed to let them know they would always try to rectify the situation , Rooms were always restocked with Water fruit . Their Attention to detail has been unmatched and I have travelled to Vietnam many times over the 30 years. Loved the Jeep tour they arranged for us as well. The staff could not do enough for us Even crossing the road the concierge was always watching to make sure that we crossed safely I will always stay at this unique Hotel They updated us regarding the floods in Hoi An and assisted in changing our destination. On Departing all of the staff came to say good bye and made sure we had a group photo . Such a Wonderful Stay, I can not recommend this Hotel Enough Big thanks to the team they also made sure we were taken care of at the next Destination and told us to reach out if we need any assistance where we are staying. All of the staff...The service at Grand Hotel du Lac is the best I’ve ever experienced at a hotel. While the rooms are nice and very clean, the staff and welcoming nature of the hotel are the best part. All of the staff were great, but in particular Camellia and Grace went above and beyond to provide amazing service. About a week before arrival, Camellia reached out to confirm our arrival and offered several options for day trips/tips for restaurants/sites in Hanoi, and other helpful information. She offered a range of options and prices (based on locations/group sizes) and was quick to provide any info on questions. We ended up booking a day trip to Ninh Binh through the hotel and it was excellent. Camellia coordinated everything perfectly and the company they worked with was well priced and professional. We had an early departure for the day trip and they offered to pack us breakfast/to go coffees to take on the trip. The breakfast at the hotel is also excellent (we didn’t get a chance to try other meals there due to a tight schedule, but they also offer lunch and dinner). They have a range of Vietnamese options, as well as made to order western options. The hotel’s location is also great, just a 1 minute walk from the main cathedral and about 5 minute walk to Hoan Kiem Lake and the main stretch of the old city. We hope to come back to Hanoi sometime and will definitely be staying here again if we do!Show More

We stayed for 7 days, rooms are small, however, Julie & Tulip were kind enough to upgrade to a room with small hallway entrance providing room for 2 suitcases. Breakfast at Ding Doong was below averag...We stayed for 7 days, rooms are small, however, Julie & Tulip were kind enough to upgrade to a room with small hallway entrance providing room for 2 suitcases. Breakfast at Ding Doong was below average, each morning with the exception the last day, we ordered Eggs Benedict, once they were overcooked, the remaining mornings still raw. I would suggest the omelette but ask for it well done or you’ll get raw eggs again. Emily and Anthong at breakfast were super friendly and kind, and tried to make it as enjoyable as possible, thank you Emily & Anthony. Overall, hotel is clean and concierge tend to open doors mainly for the males! The location is very central to Train & Beer Streets and would recommend Grab taxis to get around, AUD$3-5 instead of AUD$15-20 min for Rickshaw or regular taxis, although a Rickshaw experience was definitely worth it, keep your arms and feet in though! Staff on rooftop bar were more interested in their phones than serving you drinks.Show More

The breakfast spread was a good mix of local and international cuisine. We also hadn't booked our day trip to Ha Long bay but was able to do so with a tour operator just down the street and got a much better deal than the online options I had checked out previously.Show More
