Ill start with the (almost all) good. Very clean, nicely decorated hotel. Excellent tucked away location with the ability to walk to a TON of great restaurants and shopping. Free self parking garage is just across the small street. A large top floor gym with a good amount of equipment. The employees were friendly, helpful and informative. The 2nd floor had a nice bar area, a section with couches and a brunch restaurant that was open until 2pm. There’s a rooftop bar with a small outdoor couch area and a beautiful restaurant (Mizu) with indoor/outdoor seating. Just a really nice hotel overall.
The room had nice amenities like a Keurig, a small mini fridge, very comfortable beds and fantastic blackout curtains. We couldn't tell if it was 4am or 11am in the morning - which we liked very much! The walk in shower had a low step on bar for shaving legs (nice touch) BUT…..and this is a REALLY big big BUT………
The walk-in, frosted glass shower, is IN THE HALLWAY!! When you first step into the room you are LITERALLY standing in the bathroom area. Take one step into the room door & the sink is in front of you and the shower directly to the left. The door is frosted NOT blacked out. I could clearly see my husband showering through the door… not just a shadow. And the toilet alcove has a sliding frosted door that just slides to cover the opening. If you turn the light on in that space, from the outside you can clearly see the person sitting on the toilet, but they cannot see out…so we never turned that light on. This is directly inside the entrance to the room. It presented a challenge for us as we shared the room with our grown daughter. We had to be very strategic as to who was showering and when because there was absolutely no privacy. You step out of the shower into the open. Our double queen room did have a sliding door that could separate the bed area from the bathroom for privacy, but the other people in the room had to leave or stay in the bed area, because to exit the room from the bed area you had to walk through the bathroom. The king room that one of our group stayed in didnt have this extra sliding door. The bathroom was completely open to the room, only separated by a half wall. Im thinking “modern” design means no privacy?? Our double queen room also had no chair or desk- just the bed to sit on, a closet where the hanging rod hung front to back instead of the traditional side to side, so our clothing was hanging front to back (why????) There was no dresser to put things on & the room was a bit dark even with every light on. It was just a bizarre & awkward setup. Overall we really did like this hotel but would probably stay somewhere else in the future due to the total lack of bathroom privacy.Show More
