I booked 4 nights at The Gregorian Hotel via Love Holidays. As the flights was included, I'm not sure how much I paid for the hotel. On check in I was made to feel very welcomed by the staff on duty....I booked 4 nights at The Gregorian Hotel via Love Holidays. As the flights was included, I'm not sure how much I paid for the hotel. On check in I was made to feel very welcomed by the staff on duty. The reception smelt wonderful as you walk in. The hotel pre authorised $400 from my credit card. $170 was for City tax and the rest a deposit which was returned on the next working day after checkout. The room on the 2nd floor facing the street was very clean, with a modern warm feel. The beds and selection of duck feather pillows where very comfortable. The tv with Netflix app preinstalled was great. The water in the room each day was welcome. There isn't a kettle/tea coffee making facility which was a bit of a negative, so it was literally get ready, get to Starbucks at 6:30am for coffee. I was woken up each morning around 5am by the trucks going into the depot honking thier horns which drove me mad. I bought ear plugs which helped. The hotel is perfectly located for the Subway, 5th Avenue, Macys, Bryant Park, Central Park, Times Sq. The hotel doesn't have a bar/restaurant but there is a lovely modern Greek restaurant next door called Gaia. I went for dinner one night and the food was amazing. (Booking recommended) All in all I enjoyed my staff, I have recommended the hotel to friends and on social media groups. I will be booking again for next year. The staff at the front desk were quite rude and unhelpful, which really set a negative tone from the start. The room itself had potential, but the bathroom clearly needs attention. There’s no ventilation, which has caused a lot of mold and rust buildup. Not exactly what you’d expect for the price. It felt neglected and uncomfortable to use. Another downside is the noise. The street outside is very busy, and it was hard to get a good night’s sleep even with the windows closed. It’s a shame, because the hotel’s location could make it a great option if they just addressed the maintenance issues and improved customer service.Show More

We were asked for a credit card upon check ...Was recently there for a business trip (week of July 14th ) where the hotel reservation and costs were arranged and to be taken care of by the meeting host. We were asked for a credit card upon check in for “incidentals,” common. Imagine my surprise when I saw my credit card statement with a $49.50 charge. Reached out the hotel and was told this was an “destination charge” for the fitness club and bottles of water in the room. We were told this was on the website and made clear when making the reservation. We did not make the reservation nor have any reason to visit the website. This was not brought to our attention at the time of check-in, and I never saw a bill. I suspect a copy of the bill went to the person who made the reservation. Which was not us. It was only found when reviewing my credit card statement. I have over 1,000 nights of Marriott stays alone with a Lifetime Platinum status, and there were others, so I speak from a position of experience. Only twice in my life have I received a charge from a hotel on my credit card without knowing it was coming. The first was an accidental charge from a Ritz Carlton in Miami Florida and it was promptly removed, the other is this one. As we were there less than 24 hours, we arrived, went out, returned, changed, went out again, returned, slept, and left in time for a morning train, we did not use the fitness center or any other amenities, so we paid $49.50 for two bottles of water and not even a cup of coffee. Lesson learned. Wil not be returning.Show More
