This hotel really shows off the elegance of early 20th-century travel,and the room features vintage details and custom furnishings as it was described. The hotel is in great location in New York City, walking distance to a lot of great restaurants and hip bars just a short walk to Penn station or Grand Central station. The hotel's check-in process is quick, staff is courteous and they greet you with a nice smile. I called the management the day before and mentioned that our stay will be for my daughter's birthday celebration and much to our surprise the staff made my daughter's birthday so memorable. When we entered our room, we were thrilled to find a beautiful card and delicious cookies selection waiting for my daughter. This personal touch shows the hotel's attention to detail and commitment to making guests feel valued. Thank you to the management and staff! As a bonus, this place even has a bar in the hotel's lower level called "The Seville" a hip, energetic hangout with plush lounge decor, offering cocktails, small plates, DJ and live music, and you can tell that it is a favorite hang out place by chic people.Show More

The room was large by Manhattan standards and cute in its decor. The bed was comfortable, the shades and air worked well and so it was great for getting a good night's sleep which is not always easy in Manhattan. The bathroom and shower were similarly good. While it does need a bit of updating compared to some other hotels I've stayed in in this area which were more expensive but not as good, I would definitely recommend trying this one as it is a good value for what you get. Also the staff were uniformly nice and helpful.Show More

But the actual stay didn’t match the look. We had a big suite with two bathrooms for three people. The space was great, but the room felt worn out and not well taken care of. There was a musty smell. One sink didn’t drain. One shower head was old and barely worked, and the other had weak pressure. The body wash was empty, and a table was water-damaged. Robes were provided but no slippers. There was also no coffee maker, which feels like a basic miss for a supposedly nice hotel. On top of that, the TV didn’t work. Service was just as rough. The staff didn’t seem interested and didn’t follow up on requests. As Explorist, we were told there were no bottled waters, just a carafe that could be sent up—but they never arrived. We also had a late checkout, but our key cards were still deactivated early, locking us out of the room after breakfast. After they fixed it, housekeeping still showed up before 2 PM. The hotel looks the part but doesn’t run like it. Big rooms and nice restaurants can’t make up for poor service and maintenance.Show More

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful — always greeting me with a smile, which made me feel welcome right away. My room was quiet and comfortable, just as I requested — on a high floor and away from the elevator. Housekeeping did a great job; it seemed like the room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and bedding provided. I also appreciated the thoughtful touches like robes, slippers, and a very well-stocked minibar (though a bit on the pricey side). There’s a small gym on the 3rd floor where you can refill your water bottles with hot or cold water — a really nice touch. The gym itself is compact but handy for a quick workout. The room could use a bit of fresh paint, and there was a mild odor at first, but it wasn’t a major issue and I got used to it quickly. The overall comfort made up for it. Breakfast at the restaurant was fantastic — highly recommend it! The complimentary coffee in the lobby was surprisingly good too, a perfect start to the morning. Overall, this is a great place to stay in NoMad — comfortable, friendly, and convenient. I’d definitely stay again.Show More
