I have stayed at this Hilton many times over the past 20 years and I really appreciate the recent renovations. The rooms look fresh and the elevator upgrades are a huge improvement. The rooms look fresh and the elevator upgrades are a huge improvement. This stay was not on par with my previous experiences. Even as a Lifetime Diamond member, there was no dedicated check-in line, and my room was not ready when I arrived just before 7pm. I mentioned I did not need the two-bed room I booked and was fine with a single if it helped. A room suddenly became available, but there was no acknowledgement of my Lifetime Diamond status. No upgrade, just a room I didn’t book although I was fine with that. Room 2914 was clean and comfortable. However, it is near an employee access area, and loud activity early in the morning made it difficult to rest. The biggest issue was the shower. The water was extremely hot to very cold with no middle temperature. A quick shower turned into a long and uncomfortable experience, and I ended up running late. Housekeeping knocked out n my door at 12 noon and wanted to know why I was still there. I explained the situation and the housekeeper mentioned reporting it because a VIP was checking in after me. That felt odd considering I am a Lifetime Diamond guest myself. That’s not VIP enough at this property. The housekeeper seemed skeptical at the water issue and wanted me out. I was out by 12:08, 8 minutes late. Hopefully that 8 minutes didn’t hinder the service to the VIP that was coming after me. I still like this property and appreciate the improvements, but this stay fell short in several ways. I hope for a smoother and more consistent experience next time.Show More

Every team member I interacted with was warm, professional, and eager to help. The lobby, bar, and executive lounge are also bright spots—welcoming, lively, and a great place to work or unwind. If I were rating only service and common spaces, it would be five stars all day. Unfortunately, it’s hard to get past the rooms—the place you actually sleep and get ready. Mine felt extremely dated, like stepping into my grandmother’s house. The bathroom looked decades old, with tired tile and dingy grout, and the overall fit/finish was long overdue for replacement. The contrast between the refreshed lobby/lounge and the worn guest rooms is jarring. Location is fantastic, and again, kudos to the staff and lounge team—they’re the hotel’s greatest asset. But guests deserve rooms that match that level. So, the 3.7 is probably appropriate, but I’m leaving a 1-star review to underscore a simple request to management: please prioritize improving the hotel room floors and a full guest-room and bathroom renovation (tile, grout, fixtures, lighting, and outlets). Bring the rooms up to the standard your people set every day. Or, Frankly, you should just change the name of the hotel because a Hotel with the Hilton Flagship name should represent the Hilton brand and you are hurting your overall brand name because of this. He arrived late Monday night and the toilet was already not flushing properly. Unfortunately, the problem was never resolved during his entire stay and it remained clogged. On both Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, I called maintenance for him because he was in meetings the entire day. Each time, someone came up, but by the time he returned from work in the evenings, it still wasn’t working. That means the two full days he was actually in the hotel, the toilet wasn’t functional. Maintenance had entire days to resolve the issue, yet the problem persists. It left the impression that either the plumbing here breaks down often or the staff isn’t taking the time to actually confirm that things are fixed before moving on. To be clear, this wasn’t from misuse no excess toilet paper or foreign objects were involved. It was just a basic function of the room that never worked. The location of the hotel is excellent and very convenient for work or leisure in Midtown. At this price point, and from a company as large and reputable as Hilton, especially in a flagship 4-star hotel in Midtown Manhattan, you expect the basics to be reliable. Not having a working toilet for the entire stay is unacceptable.Show More

We were horrified to witness the hotel that we were supposed to be staying at. It was not what we saw in the brochure, photoshopped, would not be enough to describe the horror that we witnessed instead of what we saw on the brochure. We had to leave immediately. Luckily we were able to find, The NY Hilton Midtown Hotel. The hotel was in a convenient location, close to all local ameneties. Everything was just at our doorstep. The hotel was very clean and housekeeping and all staff were very good. A HUGE BIG thank you to MOUCTAR at reception desk. This man went above and beyond to help us during this terrifying and stressful time that we experienced. His patience, kindness and understanding was heartfelt. I will never forget him. Vito on the attractions desk organised our excursion trips and we were not dissapointed. Thank you Vito. We would highly recommend this hotel for all the reasons above.
