I waited 24 hours to write this review so I wouldn’t just be writing it out of anger. Well, I am still angry. I was staying at the Hilton Midtown the night before the NYC Half Marathon. I needed to get up at 3:30 AM and needed a good night’s sleep. Shortly after falling asleep, the noise began. Young adults (late teens, early 20’s) were staying in many rooms on my floor. They had no adult supervision. They spent the entire night yelling in the hallways and in their rooms. They ran up and down the hall, slamming doors, yelling to each other ALL NIGHT LONG. Other people staying on the floor told them to stop. The would not. I called security twice. I don’t know if they ever came, because the noise never stopped. I had to run a half marathon in the morning and I slept for maybe two hours. I will be telling New York Road Runners to inform their professional and elite runners to never use this hotel. When I left my room at 4:30 in the morning, two of the males were making out in the stairwell. I also had major problems with check in. That is another long story. The online check in didn’t work, the digital key wouldn’t activate. I had to upgrade my room even though I didn’t want to. I had to pay extra for the worst room in the hotel surrounded by the worst people. The next morning when I returned from the race, housekeeping came in at 10:30 trying to clean the room despite my privacy sign on the door and checkout being at 12:00. She told me I had to leave the room at 11:00 even though everything states that checkout is 12:00. I had this hotel booked for two nights in November for the NYC Marathon and two nights in August with friends. I will be canceling those reservations. I am so disappointed with this hotel because this is my 5th stay here. I always choose it for convenience and location, but never again! What a horrible experience. I have had a problem every single time I have stayed. I am done.

9/10 Superb
Staff was accommodating and friendly. I really noticed that everyone was helpful to us, not just a couple staff members. We were greeted every morning by housekeeping and asked about our stay or if we were comfortable, etc. The cafe workers made our coffee every morning exactly how we like it. Truly a top notch staff. With the $35 credit every day, it was easy and a little less expensive to grab snacks or a quick breakfast in the morning at the cafe. The location was fantastic and the beds were very comfortable. Overall the property was neat and clean. The set up of the room was also nice. I did have to work a bit during our stay and enjoyed using my laptop in the chair with the ottoman and small table by the window.

4/10 Location great - near Radio City but hotel basic
Location is great. However the hotel itself is dated. It is a conference hotel but with inadequate lifts. When we arrived there was some youth UN conference ongoing and the attendees were noisy and rude; pushing and shoving to get onto the inadequate lifts (elevators?) and crowding the lobby.
The room was poorly furnished. It desperately needs an update. I am a diamond member and was offered an upgrade: for $100 a night! That’s the first time I have been not offered a free upgrade and I’ve travelled to Hilton hotels in the UK, Italy, Netherlands and this is really the worse.
I would only stay here for the location. Otherwise there are much better hotels - even better Hilton hotels.
No water in the room. Crowded executive lounge. No coffee machine or kettle in the room - come on is this 2025 not 1920s. Never stayed in a hotel anywhere else in the world where there was no tea or coffee in the rooms!
Sharon was helpful in the exec lounge and Aliana in the Hilton Cub desk. Otherwise most other staff were disinterested or just not interested. I won’t be back which is a shame as I booked this hotel on the basis of going with a reputable brand who usually deliver in the UK and Europe.

The overall vibe was lovely. The gym was adequite. Breakfast was pricey but worth it for the stellar bagel & lox station. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable, especially the pillows. Location: MoMA steps away, Theater District walking distance. Pro-tip: 55th and 6th (a block away) has some proper everyday-New-York spots: a newsstand to grab a NY Times, an old school coffee shop (Astro), a pub (Cassidy's), and a deli (Stage Star).

6/10 Wouldn’t return to this Hilton in New York
I travel a lot and admit NY isn’t my favourite city. I use Hilton hotels quite a lot on my travels but I have to say I’m disappointed with this one. Rooms are lovely but it’s just so impersonal and so loud like Grand Central Station! The concierge was nice but everyone else seems to be curt and rude. No coffee or water in the room but I did ask for a kettle as I had some herbal teas with me and a very jolly man brought it up to me immediately. I wouldn’t return. Fingers crossed for my next Hilton tomorrow in Niagara! 🤞

6/10 Disappointing stay
Nothing wrong with the actual hotel. It’s the fact that there were hundreds of school children staying. These children had no appreciation for other guests, pushed into queues and shouted across the hotel to others. Not exactly relaxing in the communal areas. Also had some troublesome ones on room next door and had to report them.

We liked the amenities and really enjoyed the cafe. That was nice to get a coffee or hot chocolate, waters or soda for the room. Snacks and Pizza!

The hair blower was covered in dust with its filter also super dirty and the trash bins didn’t have plastic bags. The mattresses are kind of jumpy, meaning that if one guest move, the other person sleeping next to him feels it. The rest was super clean and there is good noise isolation
