PROS: Friendly, helpful staff. Beautiful beach (although very small) with crystal clear, calm water. Pool, hot-tub well kept, with nice, tropical surroundings. Live music, beachside bar with great service. Food/drink service at beach and pool. Included breakfast was very good, with many options. On site “bistro” with food, pizza and drinks, and live music on 6th floor rooftop, open in the evening on weekends. The hotel is very, very quiet, and I heard no noise at all the entire 4 nights we were there. The onsite parking ($25/day) was also convenient, as you could take the elevator in the parking garage all the way to tour hotel floor.
CONS:
Disclaimer: this is being super nitpicky… none of this impacted my 5-star rating based on expectations of a 3.5 star propery, but I like to paint a full picture. Lots of construction noise. The building appears to be going through exterior renovations, and there is caution tape, blocking certain entrances, etc. There is also large construction equipment, blocking the main entrance to the pool. The noise couldn’t be heard at the beach, but at the pool it could be heard from time to time. The entrances being blocked were not a big deal for me or my daughter, but I could see it being an issue if you are disabled or have difficulty getting around. The room itself was so-so. It didn’t cool very well, and the room never cooled to the temperature it was set to. Not a huge issue being November. The shower didn’t get really warm, and the toilet constantly ran. Also the shower didn’t look the cleanest. And the hair dryer barely worked. The rooms were fine, and clean for the most part, with comfortable beds, but they just felt like they are not maximized to their full potential, having small windows, etc. But, we didn’t pay for the upgraded food or balcony, so it was fine. The only other CON was the service at the bistro. I sat at the bar for 10-15 minutes trying to order a pizza and being completely ignored. Nobody even acknowledged my presence and I finally had to call someone over. Once I did get the bartenders attention she was very nice, but it was kind of frustrating. The hotel is NOT secure at all. There were keypads on elevators to only allow hotel guests to get from the parking garage to hotel floors, but none of them were activated. They also charge $25/day for parking but the gate is wide open, always, so If you wanted to he dishonest you could park there for free. Lastly, for some reason you have to sign out beach towels on the 6th floor of the hotel in the lobby, which is just an odd setup.Show More
