9(1299)6/10 Didn’t make it right when given the chance
Lovely hotel, incredible views. All of the staff were wonderful, especially Jonathan at the front desk and the housekeeping staff. All, except for the manager.
CONS:
At $700/night I’d expect my room to have a full length mirror and glass shower. Our shower curtain was just a plastic liner - less than you’d see at a Hampton Inn. No coffee offered in the lobby. Sheets only changed after 3 nights. Again at this price point, I’d expect these things.
Our room must have been under a utility or maintenance room because we’d hear what sounded like carts or furniture moving all hours of the night.
The part that really left a sour taste in my mouth is that we found out the rooms were $160 LESS PER NIGHT than the rate we were charged through a block. I asked for a price adjustment because it equated to $640!!! I explained the wedding rate should be less, not more than the rates published on the hotel website. She told me this wasn’t necessarily true. Wait. What?! Why would someone pay more instead of book separately from the block? I found this incredibly insulting. She finally agreed to adjust 1 night but refused to adjust the other 3 nights. Had she made this right, it would have totally changed my perception of this resort.

10/10 I would definitely stay here again.
Room was gorgeous. You can hear the waves right from your room. The artwork was exceptional. You can tell a local artist was involved with the decor. View was stunning. I also loved the connection to Opal Sol next door. Just go through the glass walkway and you have access to more pools and an even bigger gym with sunrise views.
The pool was amazing - you can hear the waves crashing from your chair. Poolside menu - great and drinks food delivered right to your spot. Great service. We also used the free bikes to explore the strip.

10/10 A lovely place to unwind.
We had an amazing view from our room, the sunsets were amazing. We were steps away from the beach which made for a lovely morning ritual of dipping our toes in the gulf before the big crowds arrived. The pool was lovely, although it did not have a deep section which was a disappointment. They had little extras everywhere, mid afternoon snacks, ice cream at the pool, free water all day long which was lovely. All in all an amazing place to stay in Clearwater Beach.

10/10 We really enjoyed our stay!
I loved the shape of the hotel, everyone gets an ocean view, which is amazing! We enjoyed the hot tub, the balcony, and the variety of restaurants at the hotel itself. Every floor had a guest pantry with the most delicious cookies I've ever had, whomever bakes them, please give them praise. Also ice were in bags which made it so much easier for a grab and go as well as the water and fruits, granola, and nut variety. You dont see that anywhere.

The resort was an excellent experience overall. My husband and I loved the amenities at Opal Sands and its ease of location to the beach and nearby restaurants. The staff was excellent; welcoming and helpful! We are looking forward to returning next year!

For the price this hotel is overrated. While the location is excellent the rooms are a little tired with rotting wood in the baseboard in the bathroom. They also do not offer breakfast of any kind nor did they have coffee available when we departed at 9:00am. Lastly our room did not have a tv remote. For $600 a night there are better options

The rooms were the cleanest I have ever stayed in. Exceptional and fast service from the valet on up. Views are spectacular from anywhere in the hotel. Even the cleaning staff was very polite. Beds were comfortable. Really,

We were so happy to be back at the Opal Sands Resort! This is hands down our favorite hotel. The service is impeccable- from booking through checkout. The views are unparalleled and the rooms are gorgeous. We love the Seaguini for dinner and the Sandbar for lunch and cocktails! Amazing all around.
Also, please don’t hesitate to vacation in Clearwater; it’s getting its groove back and will not disappoint!

10/10 Paradise on the Gulf
I stayed Opal Sands in Clearwater for a few days and let me tell you, it's like they took a slice of paradise and slapped it right on the Gulf. The place screams luxury but in that laid-back, beachy kind of way. The room? This killer view of the ocean this picture perfect. And the balcony? Perfect for that morning coffee or evening cocktail as you watch the world's most epic sunset.

Spent the weekend at Opal Sands it was wonderful! Jenna and Chris Shea helped coordinate a surprise proposal set up and after celebration. They sent champagne and chocolate strawberries to our room too! Such a great resort! Will be forever special!

The location of the property was great. Walking distance or a short trolley ride to many Clearwater Beach attractions. The ocean view room was very nice - breakfast on the balcony overlooking the ocean was really special.

Everything was so gorgeous, as soon as you walk in the staff is so amazing. We loved the pool and the ability to see the ocean while lounging. The real stars of our trip were the pool bar staff. We think Alyssa deserves a raise and paid vacation!!! She is absolutely amazing, so friendly and she runs that bar area. The food onsite is amazing, from the wings to chips and salsa to the sandwiches, we didn’t try one thing there we didn’t like.
