This is my 4th time of staying at this hotel. Last time was 2 years ago. They have refurbished the lounge /bar and seating area next to the restaurant. Oh my word what a difference. Bright and very w...This is my 4th time of staying at this hotel. Last time was 2 years ago. They have refurbished the lounge /bar and seating area next to the restaurant. Oh my word what a difference. Bright and very welcoming, it has made a huge improvement overall to the social areas. I only went in to have a look so cannot comment on any of the entertainment. Now for the rest of my reveiw. No problems with any of the food. We had breakfast and dinner with the half board option. We were able to swap a dinner for lunch when we wanted to so you have the option. Ther was plenty of choice so previous reviews must have come form some very picky eaters. I dont eat red meat and there was more than enough choices for me and my Grand daughter isnt a huge fan either but for an 11 year old that has hollow legs , she didnt go hungry by a long shot. The food was hot tasty and a huge selection of cold options as well. You do pay for drinks at the lunch and dinner sittings unless you are on all inclusive. We paid for a balcony room when booking our holiday. If you want a guaranteed balcony then book one otherwise you might be disappointed. I emailed the hotel after booking with easy jet asking if we could have a room overlooking the route of the parade. They replied acknowledging my request but couldn't guarantee. When we arrived we has been given a 5th floor suite with a wrap around balcony. It was spacious and although there were a few things that needed some TLC in places I overlooked that considering everything overall. We did have an issue with a nasty smell of sewerage in the bathroom. We did report it. Not sure if they actually came to the room or having a shower helped with the issue?? We just made sure we put the plugs in the sink and bath plugholes and toilet paper in the sink over flow. That worked so we just replaced after showering, oh and bought air freshener. Rooms were cleaned daily and fresh towels daily and nice big bath towels not small ones and vey soft. Overall this hotel is value for money. Dont expect a luxurious hotel, considering the price. What you will get is a really good hotel with lovely smiling staff across the board in the heart of Old town with everything from the beach 2 min walk and many places to eat and socialise withing a few minutes. I was reluctant because Benidorm would never have been my choice to visit. However. I have holidayed in many All Inc hotels throughout Spain and the Canaries etc in the past and I have to say that the Avenida was up there at the top in my experience. Old town Benidorm surpassed my expectations and I truly loved it. The staff were more than helpful and friendly. Franc behind the bar was so lovely and the drinks were high quality. The restaurant staff were so attentive and happy and the food was delicious. The location was perfect as was the cleanliness of the hotel and the room was comfortable with cleaning done every day. The fridge was so useful. A special mention has to be made to Hope. Hope was the forefront of entertainment every night and held dance lessons every afternoon. I attended the lessons and was able to participate every night when dancing was held followed by various forms of entertainment. I had the best time. Hope is an amazing asset to this hotel and I hope (pardon the pun). she is still there when I return We made some lovely friends and that was all down to the happy holiday that we enjoyed in the Avenida. My journey did not start well,after getting completely lost at 3am in the morning , due to the transport driver instructing me "It's just down there " Luckily, after a bit of help,I got to the hotel . The gentleman on reception was really friendly and explained how everything worked. I had room 307 at the end of a corridor. I was surprised at the size of the room . I was booked on a run of the house basis often resulting in tiny solo rooms. It was spotless. The view was not great but pull the curtains across and it didn't matter. The breakfast was good with lots of choice . The coffee machine made the best coffee I had in a while . The hotel itself was clean and tidy much bigger than I thought. As the weather was sunny the pool and rooftop terrace were a must . So relaxing, as the clientele were slightly older no phones blaring or shouted conversations. The location was fabulous close to everything all walkable . Lots of choice for restaurants and entertainment. I would defiantly stay again . Well worth a vist !Show More

Everything was to our taste, being a group of 6 people - three families. Starting with the accommodation, we thank Lucian from the reception and his colleagues, we were accommodated quite quickly and the rooms were large, clean and equipped with everything we needed. The restaurant was also good, the food was tasty, quite a lot and varied. Ceyla, Jorge and the other waiters whose names I don't remember, were always kind, with a smile on their faces and eager to help us with anything we requested. The only thing that was not to our taste was the coffee. We no longer drank instant coffee in the espresso machine, we preferred natural, fresh coffee. The hotel's location, although very noisy, we liked it, we closed the balcony doors and could sleep even when the cheerful English were having fun on the streets at 4 in the morning. The fact that we were very close to the beach, many cafes, restaurants, all the joy of the evening walk, won us over. We recommend Avenida hotel!Show More
