The location is probably the key positive for this hotel. You can't miss it, it's right across the road from Kyoto station (using the Hachijo East exit). The room is fairly small, but should suit the ...The location is probably the key positive for this hotel. You can't miss it, it's right across the road from Kyoto station (using the Hachijo East exit). The room is fairly small, but should suit the needs of a solo traveler. The bed & pillow are pretty firm, something that i heard is common in Japanese hotels. However, though i prefer a softer mattress/pillow, i found it comfortable enough and got decent sleep. The shower worked well. The room has the usual amenities, though should be noted there's no microwave. In the lobby there is a decent set up of various items to take, such as tea, lotions, body wash products, etc. The TV has useful information displayed when you turn it on, inc. the location of washing machines (the machine washes and dries your clothes, and you don't need separate detergent) and vending machines. The check in process was quick & easy, staff were on hand and courteous (be aware that there is an accommodation tax payable at check in, which was minimal though i can't remember how much it was). There are two convenience stores very close to the hotel, and there is a shopping mall next to the hotel which has another convenience store and a Don Quijote, among other stores of course.Show More

First of all, I just want to say that Japan is my favorite place on the planet, and I love the culture and it's people. The hotel's location is very convenient and not far from the main railway stat...First of all, I just want to say that Japan is my favorite place on the planet, and I love the culture and it's people. The hotel's location is very convenient and not far from the main railway station, buses & taxi's. Lots of restaurants & shopping nearby and the Avanti shopping center is right next door. The room was very nice and the bed was really comfortable. I particularly like the firm pillows. The bathroom was adequate with a well stocked selection of toiletries, and the shower was nice & powerful and the bidet was a dream. Staff were very friendly and polite and they let me check in slightly earlier than 15:00. I like the fact there was free complimentary cartons of water and toiletries in the reception for you to help yourself. Breakfast buffet was very good. Lots of delicious items to choose from (both Japanese & western). Bacon sausage & eggs, fresh fruit & salads, soba noodles & boiled rice, a selection of cooked & steamed vegetables, a selection of breads & pastries, a lovely selection of hot & cold drinks, sushi & sashimi, miso soup, cold cuts & cheeses, stir fry's and Ice cream. A big thanks to all the Staff that made my stay a very pleasant one.Show More
