While the setting and amenities have potential, this is not a standard Hyatt hotel experience, it’s a timeshare property, and that distinction makes a big difference.
✅ The Good
The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with options ranging from studios to two-bedroom units, and include a full kitchen, great for families or longer stays.
The pool and lazy river area is lovely, featuring a sandy zero-entry area perfect for small kids. The property also has giant outdoor games (Connect Four, Jenga, Chess, Checkers), volleyball courts, ping pong tables, jacuzzis, and a gym.
The location is convenient to SeaWorld and Aquatica, and being forced to venture off property for meals actually led us to some fantastic local BBQ and Mexican food.
❌ The Not-So-Good
If you’re expecting typical Hyatt service or elite recognition, prepare to be disappointed. I’m a Hyatt Globalist, and none of the usual benefits apply here; no suite upgrade, no late checkout, and no enhanced service. The staff confirmed that Globalist perks don’t carry over to Hyatt Vacation Club properties, which is worth knowing before booking.
Housekeeping operates on a rigid schedule (around 4 p.m. only) and will not return later if it’s inconvenient, for example, when kids are napping. Toiletries were never refilled proactively; I had to call multiple times just to get body wash, shampoo, and conditioner replenished.
The towel card system at the pool is unnecessarily cumbersome, you have to check towels in and out instead of simply grabbing what you need.
The Kids Club was closed for our entire stay, which was extremely disappointing for a family-oriented resort. Scheduled children’s activities were limited and often came with extra fees.
Although we were told the property was “sold out,” it felt severely understaffed we rarely saw employees anywhere on-site.
Dining options are another weak spot. There’s only one restaurant, prices are high, and the menu is limited (their fryer was down all week, so no fries or other kid favorites). Food service by the pool is only available through a QR code, and there’s no coffee shop or grab-and-go snack option on property.
Overall
The resort itself is attractive and family-friendly in design, but it operates like an apartment complex rather than a full-service hotel. If you want a self-contained vacation and don’t expect the usual Hyatt perks or hospitality, this might suit your needs. But if you’re used to true Hyatt hotel experiences, attentive service, flexibility, and recognition, you’ll likely be disappointed.Show More
