The historic nature of the hotel was a definite plus for us. Beautiful lobby and reception area. Great drinks in their little 'speakeasy'. Attentive room service! Very comfortable and clean rooms (utterly comfortable bed!). And a very short walk to just about everything you want to see in San Antonio. And apparently a fantastic wedding reception venue... there were 2 weddings the weekend we were there! The St. Anthony made a gorgeous backdrop for those weddings. Very elegant!Show More

Our room showed a bit of age, but the common areas are magnificient, especially decorated for Christmas. As much as I loved everything about this hotel, the staff and personal service was actually over the top. The concierge, the front desk staff, servers in the restaurant, even housekeeping were excellent, but special mention must be made of the bell staff, especially Mt. Johnny Mermeia. I syupidly left some business papers at the bell stand. Mr. Mermeia literally got in his car to drive the papers to the San Antonio Airport to hand them to me. This is an absolute first in my experience and I will never forget it.Show More
