I need to mention first that the hotel is clean and you are not met with unpleasant odors upon entering. The rooms are also clean without unpleasant odors. The beds are so beautifully made that you don't want to disturb it (I did ) The linens are pressed or steamed; can't remember last time I saw that in a hotel. Our room had a harborside view and it was breath taking. This hotel met all of our expectations after reading the reviews . In other words this hotel has an upscale appearance and it is maintained as such. When you get a pool towel from the bin you can smell the cleanliness and 2 of the 4 days we were there we saw the chaise lounges being scrubbed as well as the pool. You continually see staff working into the evening doing things to make this a pleasant experience for the guests. We will keep this location on our list. The Fish House food is very good, they have a well stocked bar, the view is outstanding and the staff is pleasant. There are many restaurants near the hotel that are also very good. We took the free shuttle downtown and it was great to not have to pay for parking. The shuttle drivers are very pleasant and provide suggestions to round out the experience. If you are a walker or runner, there are many spaces where you get a few miles in and enjoy it. There are a few places that need some TLC and I assume maintenance is done on some schedule because it was all minor. Upon checking in the staff was pleasant but didn't welcome us to the resort and share info on all the amenities as expected at a resort. It was like checking into any hotel. We knew about the amenities because we read the reviews and the documents given to us. There is free coffee all day, however, you will need to locate it. We had to ask for the token to get our treat. When we were checking out the staff was awesome, asked about our stay, where we were from and requested that we return. The shortcomings are not complaints just observations and did not deter from our experience. I highly recommend this location if you don't need to stay on the beach.Show More

The rooms, pool and view from this hotel are 5-star. The rooms are large, clean, decorated lovely, bed is comfortable, bathroom is large and the room has hardwood floors. When we left our room, we turned on the maid service light and the room was always ready quickly and smelled nice and fresh when we got back. Loved making a cup of coffee and sitting out on the balcony watching the sun rise over the water every morning. They have a great shuttle service into downtown that drops you at Benne's which has the most amazing coconut cake. There is also a water taxi into downtown. They look like a 5-star hotel but they don't bother you. Everything is self-service. You can park your own car and get your own towels. I prefer that low-key atmosphere. There are two hotels on property. The Beach Club and The Harbor Resort. The Harbor side has a beach and pool and restaurant. The Beach Club has a really large pool and a nice heated pool. What's nice is you can use the facilities for either. It could be that we were there off-season in early October, but they are lacking when it comes to having some of the conveniences of a 5-star hotel. They don't have a place to grab a coffee and croissant in the morning or a light lunch by the pool (there is bar with seating by the pool - no good food options). In spite of this, I would stay here again and highly recommend it. The location is great and the town of Mt Pleasant has excellent restaurants. The Vintage Coffee Cafe was a favorite for breakfast and Graze, Get Carried Away and Creative Kitchen for lunch or dinner. It's also close to Sullivan's Island and Isle of Palms. It's also an easy ride to Boone Planation and is right next door to the USS Yorktown (good place to visit on a rainy day). We were happy we decided to stay here rather than downtown Charleston (much more relaxing and quiet.Show More

Rooms are starting to get beaten up by families but still fine. Expect to get nickel and dimed by hotel. Drinks at pool are average but expensive. Auto gratuity for plastic cup drinks. You use key to get towels. I returned towels but they still charged me for not returning so expect to have to call hotel after stay to get your credit. Rep claims there are chips put in towels to register when you return towel? Expect resort fee per day even if you cannot us pool. Shallow pool is ok. If you stay past check out ask front desk for parking pass/key because if you use room key they will charge you for an extra day of parking. Restaurant on property no worth going to. Food very average and over priced. Hotel is listed as a resort, but it just has an over sized pool.Show More

The room was clean and spacious along with a nice view of the pool and Harbor area. I was impressed with the outdoor pool area and marina area and enjoyed relaxing on the padded chairs under the fans with the beach towels. I was disappointed there wasn't room service available but there was door dash in the area. The smart refrigerator was concerning for the leftovers because of the temperatures that displayed at 45+ range. However when using the quick chill is did ice some of the items. There was two different ways to get into Charleston itself which was nice since the parking can be a challenge. I would stay there again and hope to next year.Show More
