There is dining on s...We stayed at The Ryder for a long weekend and there is much positive to say - our room was lovely - bed was comfortable, the shower is large and bath towels are large and fluffy. There is dining on site and in-room dining is also available. The location is ideal and close to many restaurants/bars and shopping. Every member of the staff we got to interact with was warm and welcoming. If we found ourselves in Charleston again, we would probably make this our home base again. BUT, there is one thing you should know - the on-site restaurant/bar on the 2nd floor rooftop plays music starting at around 10 am and as it becomes evening, the volume goes WAY up and it does not end until late. Friday night, it was playing until after 11 pm...Saturday night until after 10:30...Sunday night we were out and didn't get back until late so don't know about that. If you are on the 2nd floor (and possibly the 3rd) in an even-numbered room, your room's windows will face the patio area and there will be no escaping the music. Now, if this isn't a problem for you, enjoy...just making you aware in case what you're looking for is peace and quiet for sleep. The night we arrived, we had been awake for nearly 20 hours (travel day) and all we wanted to do was sleep but of course, couldn't. Twice I spoke with the front desk staff...once was assured the music was about to end (it didn't for another hour) and the second time they offered to move us to another room. We ultimately decided against that because we didn't want to hassle with repacking all our stuff and to not be certain we'd be in a room that was any quieter. But like I said, this is us...you do you. Otherwise, we had no complaints at all about staying at The Ryder.Show More

Unfortunately many negatives thatleftmewith the feelingthatthey were trying to scam me. when I arrived there was no valet.My companion had together out of the cr to search for him. Cost of valet is in excess of $55/nite.When we check-out 5 days later we were charged for5days of valet instead of one.!! This is a pet friendly hotel.When we got tour room the smell of ammonia was overpowering.. Were moved at our request to a king room astray had no room with 2 queens. They said they wiped move us the next day but never contacted us. When I asked about move they said had no rooms. When I asked about rebate as our room was now cheaper they initially said they could not refund (after arguing they finally did. Several other issues in bait and with variety. Most of staff were student interns. I do not recommend this hotelShow More

Everyone was super friendly with our puppy and found a perfect spot to eat on the outdoor patio. The food was delicious and our server,Brice was amazing with dinner choices , drink recommendations and loved on our puppy. Dining at Little Palm was a perfect choice our first night in Charleston! Brice took the time to provide a list of restaurant recommendations in the area which was so much appreciated!! We will definitely go back there to dine during our stay in Charleston.Show More

We loved getting food and drinks at the hotel’s restaurant “The Little Palm” - our server, Miranda, was extremely kind and attentive, and was more than accommodating to us.
