I wish this hotel and type of service existed in every town we travel to. From the welcome, to the continuous impecable butler service, to pleasant kind friendly staff at the front desk! Emma and Wade at the front desk are friendly, professional, attentive, answered every question, offered water for our welcome, always picked up the phone and provided all details we needed throughout our stay. Dejah with afternoon service to your room offering chocolate/raspberry/caramel (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) liquor (for free), any mini bar items, bathroom items you might need (all free), she is the sweetest! Maya with housekeeping was super clean, polite, detailed and friendly! James at the door was always welcoming, helpful and available for anything you need. Everyone is always helpful, attentive and WOW friendly! Will forever come back to this place! Once you arrive to the hotel the butler comes to bring you to your room, explain every detail, complimentary mini bar, beautiful jazz music when you walk into the room makes it soo welcoming! The interior of the room was so well equipped and stylish! From blackout curtains, to modern french chic furniture, to amazing vanity set/shampoo, to local snacks! Our bulters were Darryl, Chuck and David! And they are awesomeee!!!! We were on our baby moon so they greeted us with an upgraded room and a gift! Can’t say enough great things about this hotel/staff/experience! You can choose to get complimentary breakfast (and they are super generous) in the room every morning or downstairs bar area. You choose what you would like and also the time you would like breakfast! Will come back here and recommend it to everyone!Show More

My husband planned a surprise trip to Charleston to celebrate my 80th birthday and invited our both of our sons and their wives. We had a Fabulous time that started with a welcome reception cocktail, ...My husband planned a surprise trip to Charleston to celebrate my 80th birthday and invited our both of our sons and their wives. We had a Fabulous time that started with a welcome reception cocktail, introduction to our butler and a tour of our room. Our sons had the 2 adjoining rooms and each had an enclosed porch. The rooms were very luxurious with comfy mattresses and big fluffy pillows. After unpacking we met in the Bar which was outfitted like a London club. Beautiful furniture and an outstanding bartender and wait staff. Then onto dinner and back to the hotel for a nightcap. Our rooms had turn down service with a soothing cordial in a chocolate cup, different every night. WE also chose our breakfast for the following morning, and making a choice out of the selections was difficult! In the morning, we received breakfast in our room and enjoyed a relaxing time before we dressed and met our family to tour Charleston. This was a wonderful experience and I can’t wait to return again!! Know I know how Royalty feel when they are treated like the staff at te Spectator treated us!Show More

Everything was absolutely perfect...no, it was beyond perfect. The little things you did for us...the champagne, the letters and the book on 1975 (the year we were married), the liquor shots before bedtime, the tray with the celebratory decorations, the chocolates at departure, everything was beyond our expectations. But I can add that with The Spectator, beyond perfect seems to be routine. Chuck our butler was so personable and helpful and always gave us great information and was always happy. Everyone at The Spectator was there for us when needed. This was our third time staying at The Spectator and we'll be back in the near future. For those reading this and if you want to stay somewhere where you feel special and want to be immersed in quality and top notch service, The Spectator is the place to stay in Charleston.Show More

The local snacks and the waters were wonderful to have each day. We didn’t drink the sodas or the cold brewed coffees left for us. Every morning we had breakfast delivered and it was delicious. Our welcome drink (cocktail or mocktail) was delicious as well. The hotel is very well situated in the middle of everything yet still in a quiet location. The staff are all very welcoming, friendly and helpful. This was my second stay and I would stay again in a heartbeat!Show More
