We found this property based on previous TripAdvisor reviews. Because our stay would be short, we wanted to assure ourselves we were in a prime location for exploring Charleston. This hotel provided just that and so much more than we were expecting.
As stated above, the location is nearly perfect, right next to the water and a short walking distance from all major sites in downtown.
Anytime you stay in the city, even a small one, sometimes the parking situation can be inconvenient, cumbersome, or even a little chaotic. This was exactly the opposite in regard to this hotel and a delightful way to begin our stay. You simply pull up out front, and one of their staff members will meet you, take your luggage, and valet your car in minutes, all for a very reasonable price. It was incredibly convenient. We arrived just before lunch, and they allowed us to check in early, which was unexpected but another sign we chose the right property.
When we arrived at our room, we simply organized our luggage a bit and headed out to explore the city. Once we got back to the hotel and to our room, we had noticed a sound coming from the walls. It appeared like there was an electrical panel behind the wall, making a buzzing sound. We immediately called the front desk, and this is really where the hotel surprised us. Having just stayed at a Five Star property nearby for a golf and tennis trip, what occurred next was what we had hoped to have received there but unfortunately didn’t. Within five minutes, a manager was at our door to inspect the issue. Her name was Theresa, and she could not have been more friendly and helpful. She inspected the noise, told us she would be right back, and within another five minutes, she came back to our room with new keys for a different room with a slightly better view from the balcony. All the time she smiled and was incredibly gracious. Just a real genuine person. This is the kind of service any patron expects of a hotel, but unfortunately rarely receives. To be honest, this was exactly what you imagine as southern hospitality. Our next room was beautiful. It was super comfortable. And there was no noise. Our stay was wonderful.
If you are like us and you are exploring the TripAdvisor reviews, trying to find your perfect spot to rest your head while in Charleston, I would highly recommend choosing this hotel. The location is perfect, but the staff is even better! You are assured to have a memorable visit!Show More
