I am beyond frustrated with my stay at Harborside at Charleston Marina. Our room is in serious need of renovation for a resort of this caliber. There’s a whole list of issues but to name a few the cab...I am beyond frustrated with my stay at Harborside at Charleston Marina. Our room is in serious need of renovation for a resort of this caliber. There’s a whole list of issues but to name a few the cabinet door for the fridge was hanging off and would not close, the bathroom pocket door has no handle (making it incredibly difficult to use), the TV picture quality is awful, and the shower was a complete disaster. At first, there was no hot water, then just a trickle of water. We made it work last night and this morning because we had things to do and we try not to be big complainers. After reporting this twice, an engineer came and the fixture he was trying to repair, came out of the wall - leaving us with no working shower or bath for the remainder of our stay.
The manager told us there were no other rooms available and the “solution” was to give us key cards to a room two floors down that is under renovation, has no air conditioning, and clearly isn’t suitable for guests. We were provided two cards, one for tonight and one for tomorrow, one time use, so we couldn’t even go to the shower at our own convenience. After going to check the temperature in the “shower” room, it’s of course extremely
hot. The front desk then changed the key cards to unlimited use of the hot shower room. WOW, thanks. This ruined our afternoon and the last night/day of our trip. The best they could do was refund one night, while still charging the “amenities fee” for a resort where we couldn’t even take a shower in our own room.
This was a huge disappointment and completely unacceptable for the price we paid. Harborside should be ashamed to offer rooms in this condition. I’m highly skeptical that there are no other rooms available anywhere in this resort.
